POWER PLANT - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General
_______
A. This procedure gives the instructions to do four tasks. Those tasks are
the engine cowl inspection, inspection of the engine drain system,
inspection of the forward engine mount, and inspection of the aft engine
mount.
B. You can get access to the parts for the inspection when you open the left and right thrust reversers.

WARNING: DO THE THRUST REVERSER DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT THE
_______ OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Do this task: Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground Maintenance (AMM 78-31-00/201).
(2)
Open the fan cowl panels (AMM 71-11-04/201).

Open the thrust reversers (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Do the inspection of the engine cowl:
(a)
Make sure that these items on the engine cowl are attached
correctly and in good condition:
1) The outer sides of the inlet cowl
2) The inlet cowl flange and the fan case flange
3) The bolts for the inlet cowl mount
4) The pressure relief vent for the inlet cowl
5) The fan cowl latches and the adjacent cowl structure
6) The pressure relief door for the fan cowl panel
7) The fan cowl hinges and the adjacent cowl structure
8) The core cowl latches and the adjacent cowl structure
9) The core cowl hinges and the adjacent cowl structure
10) The internal surface of the core cowl panels
11) The pressure relief doors for the core cowl panel
12) The thrust reverser latches and the adjacent structure.
(b)
Make sure that the pressure relief opening for the inlet cowl is closed.
(c)
Look through the pressure relief vent on the inlet cowl to see the plastic cover for the fan blade containment assembly. 1) Tears in the plastic cover are permitted if there is no
