TASK 71-00-00-705-027-N00
6. Test No. 4 - Power Acceleration/Deceleration Test
_________________________________________________
A. General
(1)
This test examines the engine power.
(2)
Do not do this test when it is necessary to use the nacelle anti-icing system because of the weather conditions. The test tables are made for a no-airbleed condition.
(a) If you must do the test with the anti-ice on, you must keep the anti-ice system on during all engine operation except for the last 30 seconds of each test stabilization period and during data recording.
(3)
Refer to AMM 71-00-00/201 for the engine operation limits.
B.

E. Procedure
S 975-052-N00
CAUTION: TO PREVENT ERRORS WHEN YOU USE THE CHECKOUT TARGET, DO NOT USE
_______ THE AIRPLANE INDICATION OF THE TOTAL AIR TEMPERATURE FOR THE AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE. MAKE SURE TO GET THE LOCAL BAROMETRIC PRESSURE (NOT CORRECTED TO SEA LEVEL) FROM THE CONTROL TOWER.
DO NOT USE A MERCURY THERMOMETER ON THE AIRPLANE. IF THE THERMOMETER BREAKS, THE MERCURY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Find the ambient air temperature [outside air temperature (OAT)] with the thermometer in a shaded area of the airplane.
S 975-053-N00
(2)
Make a record of the barometric pressure and OAT.
S 975-261-N00
(3)
Find the MIN IDLE, APP IDLE, and N1 @1.25 EPR targets for the OAT and barometric pressure from the Engine Checkout Targets table (AMM 71-00-01/201).
(a) Make a record of the checkout targets.
S 865-134-N00
WARNING:_______USE AMM 71-00-00/201 TO OPERATE THE POWER PLANT. IF YOU DO NOT USE THIS PROCEDURE, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND INJURY TO PERSONS.
