Before you remove the engine, do one of the steps that follow to make sure the airplane does not move at an angle.
(a) Calculate the weight and balance of the airplane.
1) Make sure the airplane center of gravity (C.G.) will stay in the safe limits.

(b) Add the ballast to the forward cargo compartment to get an "X" dimension (AMM 12-15-05/301).
NOTE: For an inboard engine, you must have a dimension of 15
____ inches (381 mm) or less when the shock strut pressure of the nose landing gear is 200 psi (1,779 kPa).

(5) Make sure the forward thrust levers are in fully aft position.
(a) Install the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

(6) Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

WARNING:_______DO NOT KEEP THE SPAR FUEL VALVE OPEN. THE ACCIDENTAL LEAKAGE OF FUEL DURING THE ENGINE CHANGE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(7) Make sure the applicable engine fuel and spar valves are closed:
(a)
Make sure these circuit breakers are closed: 1) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
(b)
Make sure the FUEL CONTROL switch on the control stand is in the CUTOFF position. 1) Install the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(c)
Push the STAT button on the EICAS display select panel. 1) Make sure the status page shows on the auxiliary EICAS. 2) Make sure the applicable status message, FUEL SPAR VLV 1,
a) 6G1 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 1
b) 6L10 FUEL CONT VALVE ENG 1
c) 6G2 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 2
d) 6L11 FUEL CONT VALVE ENG 2
e) 6G3 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 3
f) 6L12 FUEL CONT VALVE ENG 3
g) 6G4 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 4
h) 6L13 FUEL CONT VALVE ENG 4

WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU OPEN THE APPLICABLE CIRCUIT BREAKERS FOR THE
_______ ENGINE IGNITION BEFORE YOU OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR THE FUEL CONTROL VALVE. THE IGNITER PLUGS CAN START THE IGNITION AUTOMATICALLY IF YOU DO NOT OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS. IF THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER HAS FUEL IN IT, AN INTERNAL ENGINE FIRE OR TAILPIPE FIRE CAN OCCUR. THE FIRE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(d) For the applicable engine, open these circuit breakers and
attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
1) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
a) 6F1 IGN 1 ENG 1
b) 6K19 IGN 2 ENG 1
c) 6G19 STBY IGN ENG 1
d) 6F2 IGN 1 ENG 2
e) 6K20 IGN 2 ENG 2
f) 6G20 STBY IGN ENG 2
g) 6F3 IGN 1 ENG 3
h) 6K21 IGN 2 ENG 3
i) 6G21 STBY IGN ENG 3
j) 6F4 IGN 1 ENG 4
k) 6K22 IGN 2 ENG 4
l) 6G22 STBY IGN ENG 4
(e) Open these applicable engine circuit breakers and attach the
DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
1) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
a) 6G1 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 1
b) 6L10 FUEL CONT VALVE ENG 1
c) 6G2 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 2
d) 6L11 FUEL CONT VALVE ENG 2
e) 6G3 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 3
f) 6L12 FUEL CONT VALVE ENG 3
g) 6G4 FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE ENG 4
h) 6L13 FUEL CONT VALVE ENG 4

(8) Release the pressure from the hydraulic system No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 for the applicable engine (AMM 29-11-00/201).

(9) Make sure the applicable engine shutoff valve of the hydraulic supply is closed with the steps that follow:
(a) For the applicable engine, open these circuit breakers and
