G. Do a Test of the Engine Performance

NECESSARY TO MOTOR THE ENGINE.
CAUTION: KEEP HYDRAULIC SYSTEM 1 PRESSURIZED TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE
_______ POSITIVE CONTROL OF THE NOSE GEAR STEERING. KEEP HYDRAULIC SYSTEM 4 PRESSURIZED TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE POSITIVE CONTROL OF THE MAIN GEAR BRAKES. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE CONTROL OF THE AIRPLANE, DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE CAN OCCUR.
(1) Use the Power Plant Operation (Normal) procedure to start the engine (AMM 71-00-00/201).
(a) Let the engine become stable at idle for 5 minutes.

Get access to the EICAS performance maintenance display (AMM 31-61-00/201). 1) Monitor the vibration indications during the 5 minutes of
stable operation and when the engine increases and decreases in speed.
(c)
After the engine was stable at idle for 5 minutes, make a record of the engine data: 1) EPR 2) EGT 3) %N1 4) %N2 5) Fuel flow 6) Vibration level 7) Oil pressure 8) Oil temperature
(d)
Make sure the engine indications are in the operation limits (AMM 71-00-00/201).

(2) On the pilots' overhead panel, P5, make sure these components are in the positions that follow:
NOTE: You must keep the bleed and generator loads off during the
____ test. The limits are made from no-load and no-bleed air conditions.
