 (d)  At 50% N2, make sure the START button goes back to the off position. 1) Make sure the light on the START switch goes off. 2) Make sure the EICAS caution message, STARTER CUTOUT (1, 2,
3, or 4), does not show.
CAUTION: IF THE EICAS MESSAGE, "STARTER CUTOUT (1, 2, 3, OR
_______ 4)", SHOWS AFTER THE START BUTTON GOES TO THE OFF POSITION, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY DO THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN PROCEDURE. IF YOU DO NOT IMMEDIATELY DO THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN PROCEDURE, DAMAGE TO THE STARTER CAN OCCUR.
 3)  If the EICAS caution message, STARTER CUTOUT (1, 2, 3, or 4), shows, do the steps that follow: a) Move the ENGINE BLEED AIR switch to the OFF position. b) Move the FUEL CONTROL switch to the CUTOFF position. c) Find and correct the cause of the message (FIM 71-EICAS
 Messages).

4)  Let the engine increase in speed to idle.
NOTE: The acceleration time from when the FUEL CONTROL
____ switch is put to the RUN position (fuel on) to the time the engine gets to idle rpm will have an opposite change with the duct pressure. If a hung start occurs, stop the start procedure, find and correct the cause of the hung start (FIM 71-Fault Code Diagram, Hung Start - Fault Codes).
 a)  If the engine is not at minimum idle in 120 seconds from fuel-on, it is the flight crew's decision whether to continue with the start procedure.
 S 212-080-N00
CAUTION: IF THE EICAS ADVISORY MESSAGE, "ELEC DRIVE (1, 2, 3, OR 4)",
_______ SHOWS, YOU MUST PUSH THE APPLICABLE DRIVE DISC SWITCH. IF YOU DO NOT PUSH THE DRIVE DISC SWITCH, DAMAGE TO THE IDG CAN OCCUR.
 (6)  Make sure the EICAS advisory message, ELEC DRIVE (1, 2, 3, or 4), goes off before the engine gets to idle rpm.
 (a)  If the EICAS advisory message, ELEC DRIVE (1, 2, 3, or 4), does not go off, do the steps that follow: 1) Push the applicable DRIVE DISC switch on the pilots'
overhead panel, P5. 2) Move the FUEL CONTROL switch to the CUTOFF position. 3) Find and correct the cause of the message (FIM 24-EICAS
 Message).
 S 862-081-N00
 (7)  Let the engine become stable at minimum idle rpm and look for the approximate indications that follow:
 (a)
N1 rpm is 24%

 (b)
N2 rpm is 65%

 (c)
EPR is 1.007 to 1.022

 (d)
Fuel flow is 635 kgs/hr

 (e)
Engine oil temperature is a minimum of 50°C

(f)  Engine oil quantity is 16 liter for engines 1 and 2, and 12 liters for engines 3 and 4
NOTE: The oil quantity indication on the EICAS auxiliary
____ display shows the quantity of oil only in the oil tank and does not include the oil in the engine. During the engine operation, 12.0 U.S. quarts (11.4 liters) of oil can go from the oil tank to the engine (This is referred to as "gulp"). Thus during operation, the oil quantity can decrease a maximum of 12.0 U.S. quarts. After the engine shutdown, the oil goes from the engine back to the main gearbox and the oil tank. As the oil goes back into the oil tank, the oil quantity indication will increase.
 (g)  Engine oil pressure is a minimum of 70 psig (482.7 kPa).
 S 212-082-N00
 (8)
Make sure the system hydraulic pressure becomes stable between 2900 and 3200 psi.

 S 862-084-N00

 (9)
When the wind conditions are not stable, monitor the SVA indication on the EICAS EPCS page.

 (a)  Stop the trim run of the engine if the SVA indication is not stable (Fig. 203A).
 S 862-083-N00
 (10)
Remove pneumatic power if it is not necessary (AMM 36-00-00/201).

 S 862-124-N00

 (11)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).
