Continue to motor the engine for 20-30 seconds.
(a)
Make sure the engine gets to a maximum motor speed of 19-35% N2 rpm.
(b)
Monitor the N2, EPR, oil pressure, and other engine conditions.
(c)
Make sure a fuel flow of 160 kgs/hr shows.

Put the FUEL CONTROL switch to the CUTOFF position.

Continue to motor the engine for 30 seconds to remove the fuel from the combustion chamber.
(a) Make sure the EICAS advisory message, ENG 1, 2, 3, or 4 FUEL VLV, does not show.

(b) Make sure the fuel flow indication decreases to zero.
CAUTION: FIND AND CORRECT THE CAUSE OF THE FUEL FOG, WHICH STAYS
_______ FOR AN EXTENDED TIME, BEFORE THE SUBSEQUENT START. IF YOU DO NOT CORRECT THE CAUSE OF THE FUEL FOG, YOU CAN CAUSE AN ENGINE OVERTEMPERATURE CONDITION OR A FLAME OUT OF THE EXHAUST DURING THE SUBSEQUENT START.
(c) If there is a fuel fog, continue to motor the engine to remove the fuel which has collected in the gaspath and until the fuel fog goes out of view.

Push the START button to the off position.
(a)
Make sure the START button light goes off.
(b)
Make sure the N2 rotor stops.
(c)
Put the applicable MAIN AFT and FWD switches for the fuel to the OFF position.

(5) S 942-061-N00Install the engine inlet and exhaust covers after the engine has become cool if the engine is not operated for a long time.

13. Start the Engine (Cold Weather)

A. General
(1)
This procedure gives the instructions for engine operation during cold weather conditions.
(2)
These instructions add the information, the techniques, and additional procedure to the normal engine operation procedure.
(3)
Engine icing can occur during engine operation when there are two conditions:
(a)
Outside air temperature is less than 10°C (50°F).
(b)
Visible moisture can be seen.
NOTE: Visible moisture is defined as clouds or fog with less
____ than one mile visibility, rain, snow, sleet, and ice crystals or; water, ice, or snow on the ground.
