 D.  Pitot-Static Probe Internal Cleaning - On the airplane
 S 867-020
 (1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
 (a)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) 6D30 PROBE HEAT PITOT L
 2) 6D31 PROBE HEAT PITOT R
 3) 6D32 PROBE HEAT AUX PITOT L
 4) 6D33 PROBE HEAT AUX PITOT R

 S 217-003
 WARNING:_______MAKE SURE THE PROBE HEAT IS NOT ON. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 CAUTION:_______DO NOT PUT OBJECTS INTO THE STATIC PORTS. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE.
 (2)  Do the pitot-static probe inspection (Ref 34-11-01/601).

 (3)  
Disconnect the pitot-static system hoses from the probe. S 167-005

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT USE MORE THAN 60 PSI OF AIR PRESSURE. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PROBE.

 (4)  
Blow compressed dry air into the line fittings of the probe.

 (a)  
Make sure the air comes out of the pitot opening.

 (b)  
Make sure the air comes out of the static ports.

 (5)  
Connect the pitot-static hoses to the probe.

 (6)  
Tighten the line fittings to these values:

 (a)  
Pitot (P) pressure line 140 |4 pound-inches

 (b)  
Static (S1) pressure line 190 |10 pound-inches

 (c)  
Static (S2) pressure line 270 |14 pound-inches

 (7) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
 (a)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) 6D30 PROBE HEAT PITOT L
 2) 6D31 PROBE HEAT PITOT R
 3) 6D32 PROBE HEAT AUX PITOT L
 4) 6D33 PROBE HEAT AUX PITOT R

 E.  Pitot-Static Probe Internal Cleaning - Off the airplane

 (1)
Remove the pitot-static probe from the airplane (Ref 34-11-01/401).

 (2)  
Soak or flush the pitot-static probe with clean water.

 (3)  Drain the water from the pitot-static probe.
 S 167-026

 (4)  Blow compressed dry air into the line fittings of the probe.
 (a)  
Make sure the air comes out of the pitot opening.

 (b)  
Make sure the air comes out of the static ports.

Clean the drain hole of the pitot-static probe.

If the drain hole is not clean:

 (a)  
First, put a 0.029 inch drill rod into the drain hole.

 (b)  
Second, put a 0.033 inch drill rod into the drain hole.

 


 NOTE: The diameter of the drain hole must be less than 0.033

 +0.002/-0.001 inches.
