 (1)
Make sure the two F/D switches on the MCP are in the OFF position.

Make sure these circuit breakers are open:


 (a)  P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7A10, ADC L PWR
 2) 7A12, AOA L
 3) 7A13, AOA ALTN L
 4) 7A14, ADC R PWR
 5) 7A16, AOA R
 6) 7A17, AOA ALTN R
 7) 7J15, ADC C PWR

 (3)  Make sure these circuit breakers are open:
 (a)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) 6D28, PROBE HEAT TAT L
 2) 6D29, PROBE HEAT TAT R

 (4)  Clean and prepare the surface and the sides of the installation hole (AMM 20-11-14/701).

 (5)  Install the total air temperature probe:
 (a)  
Install a new gasket on the bottom of the probe.

 (b)  
Remove the cap from the pneumatic hose.

 (c)  
Connect the pneumatic hose to the bottom of the probe.

 (d)  
Remove the dust cap from the electrical connector.

 (e)  
Examine the probe's electrical connector for loose, bent, or broken pins.

 (f)  
Connect the electrical connector to the bottom of the probe.

 (g)  
Carefully put the pneumatic hose and the electrical cable into the airplane.

 (h)  
Align the bottom of the probe with the installation hole.

 (i)  
Install the probe and the gasket such that the large intake points forward and the small release holes point aft.

 (j)  
Make sure the bottom of the probe is smoothly aligned with the airplane skin.

 (k)  
Install the screws in the bottom of the probe.

 (6)  Measure the resistance between the total air temperature probe and the airplane skin.
 (a)  The resistance must be 0.010 ohm or less.

 (7)  Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
 (a)  P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7A10, ADC L PWR
 2) 7A12, AOA L
 3) 7A13, AOA ALTN L
 4) 7A14, ADC R PWR
 5) 7A16, AOA R
 6) 7A17, AOA ALTN R
 7) 7J15, ADC C PWR

 Do a test of the TAT probe:


 CAUTION: DO NOT PUSH THE AIR DATA COMPUTER (ADC) TEST SWITCH WHILE
_______ THERE IS PRESSURE IN THE PITOT-STATIC SYSTEM. THE ADC WILL GO INTO A FAILURE CONDITION AND TRANSMIT THIS CONDITION TO ITS INTERFACE SYSTEMS.
