 WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE ANGLE OF ATTACK SENSOR WHEN THE SENSOR HEAT IS
_______ ON. YOU CAN BURN YOURSELF ON THE ANGLE OF ATTACK SENSOR.
 (4)  Remove the sealant from around the bottom of the angle of attack sensor (Ref 51-31-01/201):
 (a)  
Remove the top part of the sealant to gain access to the nylon cord.

 (b)  
Pull the nylon cord to break up the sealant.

 (5)  Remove the angle of attack sensor:
 (a)  
Remove the eight bolts from the bottom of the sensor.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT APPLY FORCE TO THE SENSOR VANE. FORCE APPLIED TO THE SENSOR VANE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SENSOR VANE.

 (b)  
Carefully move the body of the sensor forward and aft to loosen the gasket.

 (c)  
Carefully pull the sensor out until you can get to the electrical connector on the rear of the sensor.

 (d)  
Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.

 (e)  
Install a dust cap on the electrical connector.

 (f)  
Temporarily attach the electrical connector to make sure that it cannot fall into the fuselage.

 (g)  
Remove the gasket and discard it.

 (1)
Make sure the two F/D switches on the MCP are in the OFF position.

Make sure these circuit breakers are open:


 (a)  P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7A10 ADC L PWR
 2) 7A12 AOA L
 3) 7A13 AOA ALTN L
 4) 7A14 ADC R PWR
 5) 7A16 AOA R
 6) 7A17 AOA ALTN R
 7) 7J15 ADC C PWR

 (3)  Make sure these circuit breakers are open:
 (a)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) 6C33 AOA HEAT L
 2) 6C34 AOA HEAT R

 (4)  
Clean and prepare the surface and the sides of the installation hole (Ref 20-11-14/701).

 (5)  
Clean the surface of the alignment pins on the bottom of the angle of attack sensor (Ref 20-11-14/701).

Apply a thin layer of sealant to the surface of the alignment pins.

Install the angle of attack sensor:

 (a)  
Set the new gasket in its position.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT APPLY FORCE TO THE SENSOR VANE. FORCE APPLIED TO THE SENSOR VANE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SENSOR VANE.

 (b)  
Remove the dust cap from the electrical connector.

 (c)  
Examine the sensor's electrical connector for loose, bent, or broken pins.

 (d)  
Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.

 (e)  
Carefully put the body of the sensor into the hole in the fuselage.

 (f)  
Install the eight bolts in the angle of attack sensor.
