D. Procedure

(1) Open the applicable circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6D30 PROBE HEAT PITOT L
2) 6D31 PROBE HEAT PITOT R
3) 6D32 PROBE HEAT AUX PITOT L
4) 6D33 PROBE HEAT AUX PITOT R

(2) Remove the pitot-static probe (AMM 34-11-01/401).

WARNING:_______MAKE SURE THE PROBE HEAT IS NOT ON. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(3)
Visually examine the pitot-static probe for damage.

Visually examine the pitot-static probe for material in the static ports, pitot opening, and pitot drain hole.

CAUTION: DO NOT PUT OBJECTS INTO THE PITOT OPENING, STATIC PORTS OR
_______ DRAIN HOLE. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE.
(5) Visually examine the aerodynamic condition of the static ports (Fig. 601):
(a)
Make sure that the static port edges are perpendicular to the contoured-surface.
(b)
Make sure that the static port edges are not rounded by more than 0.003 inches.
(c)
Make sure that the static port edges are not above the contoured-surface more than 0.003 inches.

(6) Visually examine the pitot-static probe for nicks, scratches, or other surface defects:
(a)
Make sure the depth of the defect is less than 0.015 inches in an area 0.5 inches around the ports.
(b)
Make sure that the depth of the defect is less than 0.025 inches on the remaining head section.
(c)
Make sure that the depth of the defect is less than 0.125 inches on the strut section.
