CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE
_______ HEATERS. DAMAGE CAN OCCUR TO THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE HEATERS.
(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6D30, PROBE HEAT PITOT L
2) 6D31, PROBE HEAT PITOT R
3) 6D32, PROBE HEAT AUX PITOT L
4) 6D33, PROBE HEAT AUX PITOT R

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE WHEN THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE
_______ HEATER IS ON. YOU CAN GET BURNED WHEN THE PROBE HEATER IS ON.
CAUTION: DO NOT EXTEND THE SEALS INTO THE PITOT DRAINS AND STATIC PORTS.
_______ YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE IN THE AREA WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SEALS.
(2) Install the pitot-static probe adapter on all four of the pitot-static probes:
(a) Seal the drain hole for the pitot chamber, on the bottom of the probes, with vinyl adhesive tape.
NOTE: The drain hole is about 2-1/4 inches aft of the probe
____
tip.
WARNING: WHEN THE STATIC PORTS ARE COVERED, MAKE SURE THAT
_______ CONDITION IS VISIBLE FROM THE GROUND. FAILURE TO OBSERVE AND REMOVE COVERINGS OVER STATIC PORTS BEFORE FLIGHT MAY CAUSE LARGE ERRORS ON AIRSPEED SENSING AND ALTITUDE SENSING SIGNALS, WHICH MAY LEAD TO LOSS OF SAFE FLIGHT.
(b) Seal the forward static ports (S1) and aft static ports (S2) on all four of the pitot-static probes with vinyl adhesive tape.
CAUTION: FLUSH THE PROBE ADAPTER WITH WATER BEFORE YOU ATTACH THE
_______ ADAPTER TO THE PROBE. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ADAPTER OR THE PROBE.
(c) Flush the pitot-static probe adapters with water.
NOTE: A solution that has equal parts of ethylene glycol and
____ water must be used in temperatures between 32°F and .40°F.

(d) Install the probe adapters on the probes.

(3) Connect the pneumatic test set to the pitot-static probe adapters:
(a) Connect the pitot (pressure) source in the pneumatic test unit through the pitot control valve to the pitot cutoff valve.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE HAS NO ADDED WEIGHT

FROM THE TEST HOSES. YOU CAN BEND OR TWIST THE
PITOT-STATIC PROBE OUT OF TOLERANCE.
(b)
Connect the pitot-static probe adapters to the pitot cutoff valve through the pitot system test gage and flow restrictor.
(c)
Open the pitot cutoff valves.

(4) Connect the pneumatic test set to the static system test fittings:
(a)
Connect the static (vacuum) source in the pneumatic test unit through the static control valve to the static cutoff valve.
(b)
Connect the static system quick-disconnect test fittings to the static cutoff valves through the static system test gages and flow restrictors.
NOTE: The test fittings are on the left and right sides above
____
the pitot-static drains at STA 400.
(c) Open the static cutoff valves.
