 (d)  
EVA 001-004, 101-108 PRE-SB 34-2516;
 Tighten the hose connections to these values:
 1) Pitot (P) pressure line 140 |4 pound-inches
 2) Static (S1) pressure line 190 |10 pound-inches
 3) Static (S2) pressure line 270 |14 pound-inches


 (e)  
Remove the dust cap from the electrical connector.

 (f)  
Examine the electrical connector for loose, bent, or broken pins.

 (g)  
Connect the electrical connector to the probe.

 (h)  
Carefully put the hoses and the electrical cable in the installation hole.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT BEND OR TWIST THE PROBE TO INSTALL THE PINS. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PROBE.

 (i)  
Make sure the bottom of the probe is smoothly engaged with the surface of the airplane.

 (j)  
Install the screws in the bottom of the probe.

 (6)  Measure the resistance between the bottom of the probe and the surface of the airplane.
 (a)  Make sure the resistance is not larger than 0.010 ohms.

 (7)  Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
 (a)  P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
 1) 6D30, PROBE HEAT PITOT L
 2) 6D31, PROBE HEAT PITOT R
 3) 6D32, PROBE HEAT AUX PITOT L
 4) 6D33, PROBE HEAT AUX PITOT R

 (8)  Do a low-range leak test of the pitot-static system (AMM 34-11-00/501).

 (9)  
Do an operational test of the heater circuit of the pitot-static probe (AMM 30-31-00/501).

 (10)
 EVA 001-004, 101-108 PRE-SB 34-2516; Install the sealant around the bottom of the pitot-static probe.

 (a)  
Apply a thin layer of sealant to the nylon cord.

 (b)  
Wind the cord once around the bottom of the probe.

 (c)  
Fill the empty space between the bottom of the pitot-static probe and the surface of the airplane with sealant.

 


 NOTE: It is not neccesary to apply the sealant immediately, if
____ the cure time will cause a flight delay. But to prevent moisture damage to the airplane, sealant should be applied as soon as it is convenient for the operator.
 (d)  Let the sealant dry until the sealant cannot be dented.

 PITOT-STATIC PROBE - INSPECTION/CHECK
_____________________________________
 1.  General_______
 A.  This subject has one task. The task is to visually examine the pitot-static probe, static ports, pitot opening, and pitot drain hole for damage.
 B.  Four pitot-static probes are installed on the forward fuselage along the side of the passenger cabin. Two probes are installed on each side of the airplane at approximately STA 270, WL 200.
 C.  This inspection/check procedure is applicable to all the pitot-static probes.
 D.  Fly Back Limits
 (1)  
Replace the pitot-static probe for one or more of the conditions that follow:

 (a)  
The flight crew finds a cross-panel airspeed or altitude difference

 (b)  
The pitot-static probe is out of tolerance

 (c)  
There is mechanical damage.

 

 (2)  
Do these steps when you see deterioration of the pitot-static probe:


 (a)  You can dispatch the airplane from a base without maintenance facilities until one of the conditions that follow occur: 1) 48 hours elapse 2) The airplane gets to a maintenance base.
