Put the safety barriers in position.
(2)
Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the spoilers.
(3)
Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(4)
Put the access platform in position below the applicable zone:

for spoiler 2, below zone 583(683)

for spoiler 3, below zone 584(684)

for spoiler 4, below zone 585(685)

for spoiler 5, below zone 586(686).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Do a manual extension of the spoilers (Ref. TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
(2) Make sure that the COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER (98D27604000000) is installed on the spoiler actuator.
(3) Make sure the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER (98D27803000000) is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
