Remove the sensor mounting bracket together with the applicable proximity sensor 20GA(21GA).

Remove and discard the spacer (12) if installed.
(e)
Make sure that the sensor mounting bracket is in the correct condition.

(f)
If necessary, adjust the new spacer (12) to get the correct dimension Z.
(g)
Put the applicable proximity sensor 20GA(21GA) and the new spacer
(12) if installed, in position on the sensor mounting bracket.
(h)
Install the screws (13), the washers (10) and the nuts (11).
(i)
Torque tighten the nuts (11) to between 0.4 and 0.45 m.daN (35.39 and 39.82 lbf.in)
(j)
Make sure that the dimension Z is between 1.4 mm (0.0551 in.) and
1.6 mm (0.0629 in.).
(k)
Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-047) to the areas that follow:
-around the joints between the applicable proximity sensor 20GA(21GA), the spacer (12) if installed, and the sensor mounting bracket
-
to the heads and the ends of the screws (13)
-
to the washers (10)
-
to the nuts (11).
(l)
Remove the blanking caps and connect the electrical connector to the applicable proximity sensor 20GA(21GA).
(5) For the forward proximity sensor 22GA(23GA):
-if the dimension X is incorrect, do the steps that follow: NOTE : Dimension X must be between 3.9 mm (0.1535 in.) and 4.1 mm

(a)
Measure the dimensions J, K and L.
(b)
Use the formula to calculate the dimension X.
(c)
Remove the nuts (5), the washers (4) and the screws (1).
(d)
Remove the target (3).
(e)
Remove and discard the spacer (2) if installed.
(f)
Make sure that the target mounting bracket is in the correct condition.
(g)
If necessary, adjust the new spacer (2) to get the correct dimension X.

(h)
Install the new spacer (2) if necessary, and the target (3) together with the screws (1), the washers (4) and the nuts (5).
(i)
Torque tighten the nuts (5) to between 0.4 and 0.45 m.daN (35.39 and 39.82 lbf.in).
(j)
Make sure that the dimension X is between 3.9 mm (0.1535 in.) and
4.1 mm (0.1614 in.).
(k)
Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-047) to the areas that follow:
-around the joints between the target (3), the spacer (2) if installed, and the target mounting bracket
-
to the heads and the ends of the screws (1)
-
to the washers (4)
-
to the nuts (5).
(6) For the forward proximity sensor 22GA(23GA):
-if the dimension Z is incorrect, do the steps that follow:
NOTE : Dimension Z must be between 1.4 mm (0.0551 in.) and 1.6 mm

(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the applicable proximity sensor 22GA(23GA).
(b)
Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(c)
Remove the nuts (9), the washers (8) and the screws (6).
(d)
Remove the sensor mounting bracket together with the applicable proximity sensor 22GA(23GA).
(e)
Remove and discard the spacer (7) if installed.
(f)
Make sure that the sensor mounting bracket is in the correct condition.
(g)
If necessary, adjust the new spacer (7) to get the correct dimension Z.
(h)
Put the applicable proximity sensor 22GA(23GA) and the new spacer
(7) if installed, in position on the sensor mounting bracket.
(i)
Install the screws (6), the washers (8) and the nuts (9).

(j)
Torque tighten the nuts (9) to between 0.4 and 0.45 m.daN (35.39 and 39.82 lbf.in).
