A. Safety Precautions

Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.

Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-481-001).

(3) On the panel 400VU: - make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position - make sure that the warning notice is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
(4) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to operate the hydraulic systems: - in the cockpit, on the HYD overhead panel 40VU - on the hydraulic ground service panels 197CB and 198CB - on the access door 195BB.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems have been depressurized (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoirs have been depressurized (Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. TASK 29-23-00-860-001).

R C. Flight Configuration Precautions
(1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
R R R (2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the flight configuration precautions with electrical power (Ref. TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the circuit breakers.

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
NOTE : In the step that follows, make sure that the Materials No.
____ 04-004 or No. 04-022 are not mixed together. Do not use them at the same time (Ref. SIL 12-008).
(2)
Apply a thin layer of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-004) or COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-022) to the interface of the pin (3).
(3)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).
(4)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

B. Installation of the MLG Actuating Cylinder Eye-End Pin
(1)
Use the GUIDE CONE (98D32104014000) to install the pin (3). Make sure that the greasers (2) point aft.
(2)
Apply a thin layer of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) to the interfaces of:
-
the pin (3) with the cap (5)
-
the washer (6) with the cap (5)
-
the nut (7) with the washer (6)
-
the bolt (1) with the nut (7).
NOTE : Do not apply sealant to the interfaces of:
____
-
the pin (3) and the MLG leg lugs
-
the cap (5) and the MLG leg lugs.
(3)
Install the cap (5), the bolt (1), the washer (6) and the nut (7).
