R A. Check the Tension of the NLG Free-Fall Extension Cables
(1) Get the ambient temperature and the temperature of the underfloor areas.
(2) Make a plot of the ambient and underfloor temperature points on the graph and find the correct tension value. (Ref. Fig. 605/TASK 32-33-00-991-004)
NOTE : Where the points of the ambient temperature and underfloor____ temperature align (between the given lines of tension), then the correct tension indication is calculated by linear extrapolation. (See the example on the graph). (Ref. Fig. 605/TASK 32-33-00-991-004)
R R R (3) Attach the tensiometer to one of the cables at position A in the lateral avionics compartment, zone 127, 128. Make sure that the tensiometer is attached a minimum of 80 mm (3.1496 in.) away from pulleys and turnbuckles. (Ref. Fig. 604/TASK 32-33-00-991-003)
NOTE : The free-fall extension cables have a diameter of 3.2 mm____ (0.1259 in.).
(4) Compare the tensiometer indication with the tension value on the graph for the known ambient and underfloor temperatures. The value must be in the adjustment range given on the graph. (Ref. Fig. 605/TASK 32-33-00-991-004)
NOTE : If necessary, adjust the tension in the cable (Ref. TASK 32-____ 33-00-820-001).
(5) Remove the tensiometer from the cable.
(6) Do steps (1) to (5) again for the other NLG cable.

R B. Check the Tension of the MLG Free-Fall Extension Cables
(1) Get the ambient temperature and the temperature of the underfloor area.
R R R (3) Attach the tensiometer to one of the cables at position B in the forward cargo compartment, zone 131(132).
R R R (4) Get five tensiometer indications from the same position on the cable. Use the middle value indication for the procedure in step (5). Ignore the two lowest and the two highest indication values.
R (5) Compare the tensiometer indication with the tension value on the graph for the known ambient and underfloor temperatures. The value must be in the adjustment range given on the graph. (Ref. Fig. 605/TASK 32-33-00-991-004)
NOTE : If necessary, adjust the tension in the cable (Ref. TASK 32-____ 33-00-820-003).
R (6) Remove the tensiometer from the cable.
R (7) Do steps (1) to (5) again for the other MLG cable.
R (8) Do steps (1) to (5) again for the two cables at positions C and D in the wing center box, zone 241(242).
R R NOTE : It is not necessary to take five tensiometer indications at____ positions C and D when you do step (8).

C. Removal of the Rigging Pins (Ref. Fig. 604/TASK 32-33-00-991-003)
(1) Remove the RIGGING PIN at position Pin 1.
(2) Remove the RIGGING PIN at position Pin 2.
(3) Remove the RIGGING PIN at positions Pin 3 and Pin 4.
(4) Remove the PIN, RIGGING - RUDDER CONTROL at position Pin 5.
(5) On the panel 110VU: - remove the wedges from the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle.
Subtask 32-33-00-710-051
D. Free Fall Extension System Operation
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT THE RIGGING PINS ARE REMOVED BEFORE OPERATION OF_______ THE FREE FALL SYSTEM. DAMAGE WILL OCCUR IF THE RIGGING PINS ARE INSTALLED DURING SYSTEM OPERATION.
(1) To let the cables and linkages become stable, operate the free-fall extension system through ten full cycles:
(a) For one full cycle, on the panel 110VU: - operate the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle three turns in a clockwise direction at a rate of one turn every five seconds - operate the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle three turns in a counter-clockwise direction at a rate of one turn every five seconds.
