7. LOC MIL ACFT conducting practice INSTR APCH and visiting MIL ACFT on practice
INSTR APCH or straight-in visual APCH may be instructed to go aroundby TWR to afford
LOC MIL CCT ACFT priority. If instructed to go round ACFT are RQ to displace 1000FT
left or right (as instructed) of RCL ASAP. Expect ATC joining or DEP instructions.
8. When ATS OPR, civil ACFT taxi in TWY H, out TWY J.
FLIGHT PROCEDURES
NOTES APPLICABLE TO BOTH GENERAL AVIATION ROUTES
1. Applicable during HR of OPS of Williamtown ATC. Refer Air Traffic Services section and
NOTAM.
2. Traffic separation will NOT be provided.
3. Pilots are reminded of adjacent Restricted & Danger Area.
4. GENERAL AVIATION ROUTES THROUGH WILLIAMTOWN TERMINAL AIRSPACE
a. INLAND LANE (D589A&B): MAITLAND-DUNGOG-STROUD ROAD
-GLOUCESTER-WIRRADGURIE
ACFT may transit through R578E via D589A and through R583B (when activated)
via D589B, without notification to or clearance from Williamtown ATC.
Dimensions of the lane are:
D589A - 1NM either side of the RAILWAY LINE BETWEEN MAITLAND TOWNSHIP
and a position 2NM NORTH-EAST of DUNGOG; vertical limit 1000FT AMSL.
D589B - 1NM either side of the RAILWAY LINE BETWEEN a position 2NM
NORTH-EAST of DUNGOG and STROUD ROAD; and 1.5NM either side of the
RAILWAY LINE BETWEEN STROUD ROAD, GLOUCESTER and WIRRADGURIE;
vertical limit 1500FT AMSL.
(During the activity periods of R583B, military aircraft will avoid the D589 corridor by
a minimum altitude of 500FT for wake TURB CAT Light, and 1000FT for wake TURB
CAT Medium.)
b. COASTAL ROUTE: NOBBY'S HEAD-POINT STEPHENS
LIGHTHOUSE-BROUGHTON ISLAND-SUGARLOAF POINT. (See Notes (i), (ii),
(iii) and (iv) Below)
Northbound- Remain BLW R578. 5NM S of NOBBY's HEAD contact "Willy Clearance
Delivery" on 130.35 with flight details. Expect clearance at 500FT AMSL. Follow the
coastline at all times (over water). Report at POINT STEPHENS LIGHTHOUSE.
From that point expect onwards clearance NOT ABV 2000FT AMSL. Report ABM
BROUGHTON ISLAND. Track to SUGARLOAF POINT. (1)
CLEARANCE LIMIT: NOBBY'S HEAD. DO NOT proceed N of NOBBY'S HEAD
without clearance.
Southbound - Track from SUGARLOAF POINT NOT ABV 2000FT AMSL. Follow
the coastline at all times (over water). 5NM N ABM BROUGHTON ISLAND contact
"Willy Clearance Delivery" on 130.35 with flight details. Once cleared report at POINT
STEPHENS LIGHTHOUSE at (level requirement) 500FT AMSL. Expect onwards
clearance at 500FT AMSL. Report at NOBBY'S HEAD.(1)
CLEARANCE LIMIT: BROUGHTON ISLAND. DO NOT proceed S of BROUGHTON
ISLAND without clearance.
(i) ACFT are permitted to track up to 2 miles west of Sugarloaf Point leaving
/entering the Coastal Route.
(ii) For separation with WLM TFC, coastal route traffic can expect HOLDING ABM
NOBBY'S HEAD or STOCKTON BRIDGE northbound and at ANNA BAY
southbound.
(iii) WM ATC will instruct ACFT when to return to civil area FREQ.
(iv) VFR CAT MIL Fast Jets operate in the Coastal Route.

Outside TWR HR.
1. CA/GRS CS Willy RDO may be provided outside TWR HR on 118.3MHz. HR notified on
WLM ATIS.
2. AD LGT outside TWR HR fixed at stage 3. STD settings are MIRL (Omni directiona RWY
LGT), HIAL RWY 12, PAPI RWY 30, OBSTR and IWI. CS "Willy Fire" who MNT 118.3
MHZ cannot adjust settings but will provide visual confirmation that MIRL is OPR on REQ.
All other LGT pilot MNT. REP LGT failures to "Willy Fire".
3. MAE may be OPR on or near RWY and other ACFT MOV areas.
4. In the event of an EMERG, ACFT OPR at WLM on an unattended airfield basis are to
declare the EMERG on Brisbane Centre, FREQ 125.7. Additionally when WI 10NM of
WLM, MIL ACFT are to advise details to either CA/GRS "Willy RDO" or to RFF callsign
"Base Fire" on FREQ 118.3 MHz.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1. Animal and bird hazard exists on AD.
2. Operational Readiness Platforms (ORP) N & S of THRs. May contain ACFT at any time.
3. Wind shear hazard exists on RWY 12 when wind velocity 030-090 - ABV 10 KT.
4. GLD/tugs OPR HJ JF FM unmarked grass areas outside RWS BTN RWY 12/30 and
TWY A or FM TWY A. Contra CCTS flown N of AD.
5. MIL HEL OPR FM TWY A. Contra CCTS flown N of AD BLW 500FT. CIV HEL OPR FM
pad W of CIV apron outside RWS.
6. 23 Metre Ground Firing Range. APRX position 040/0.50. Limits: 400FT in all direction.
