7.3 ARRIVALS
7.3.1 ACFT up to & including A300/B767 size may be processed to land on either of the parallel
RWYs 16L/R or 34L/R.
7.3.2 A330 type aircraft operating domestic legs may be processed to land on either of the
parallel RWYs 16L/R or 34L/R.
7.3.3 ACFT landing RWY 16R RQ APV to vacate to the left on TWYs F, B3 & B4.
7.3.4 ACFT landing RWY 16L/34R are to remain TWR frequency 124.7 til W of TWY S.
7.3.5 ACFT landing RWY 34R and vacating TWY T2 are to taxi via TWY U and TWY U1 unless
otherwise advised.
7.3.6 ACFT landing RWY 07/25 RQ APV to vacate on TWY C.
7.3.7 All ARR ACFT are required to advise PRKG bay on first contact with SY GND.
7.4 DEPARTURES
7.4.1 Departures shall normally be cleared in the order in which they are ready for take-off,
except that deviations may be made from this order to facilitate the maximum number of
departures with the least average delay.
a. Intersection DEP by jet ACFT on RWY 34L are NOT PERMITTED due to Noise
Abatement Requirements.
b. RWY 16R for DEP to S, W & NW, & DEP FM the INTL terminal.
c. RWY 16L for DEP to N and E.
d. RWY 34L for DEP to the W, NW & non-jets to the S, & DEP FM the INTL terminal.
e. RWY 34R for DEP to the N and domestic jets to the S.
Note 1: ACFT which operationally require to use RWY 16R/34L or RWY 07/25 must notify
ATC at Clearance Delivery Stage
Note 2: INTL DEP ACFT including B767 and BLW may request or be offered DEP from
RWY 16L/34R at Clearance Delivery Stage.
Note 3: Domestic JET DEP to South may be assigned RWY 16L for traffic management
purposes.
8. GROUND CONTROL
8.1 Unless directed otherwise by ATC, the following taxiway routes apply:
TWY B - northbound
TWY C - southbound
TWY B10 - eastbound between TWY C and RWY 16L
TWY L - westbound between RWY 34R and TWY B

9. AIRWORK IN THE SYDNEY TERMINAL AREA
9.1 Pilots intending to conduct airwork, other than ILS training, in the SY terminal area must
obtain preflight briefing & approval from Sydney ATC, Phone 02 9556 6875 or 9556 6564.
9.2 Helicopter banner towing is not permitted to or from the aerodrome.
10. Training Flights:
10.1 Training is permitted at SY MON-FRI 0000-0600 & SAT 0000-0900, except that AWK
may be conducted at any time, provided that the training is not over built up areas. In
addition, ACFT of less than 5,700KG MTOW may conduct PILS on SUN 0000-0600.
Training on the APCH aids shall not continue for more than one hour during any one
period.
10.2 Practice descents on APCH aids shall be confined to ILS or LLZ training.
10.3 No asymmetric training is permitted BLW 1,500FT over built-up areas, except as set out
in the following para.
10.4 Asymmetric practice descents on ILS or LLZ to the minima specified for these aids may
be carried out, provided that in the simulated failure the ENG is not shut down.
10.5 At any time, ARR Scheduled ACFT may be permitted to carry out a PILS or LLZ APCH
at the conclusion of each leg of flights to SY, provided that:
a. the pilot in command has stated that the APCH is RQ for licence renewal purposes;
or
b. the ACFT lands straight ahead & does not use a RWY other than the RWY currently
in use, merely for the purpose of carrying out the practice.
10.6 All training is at the discretion of ATC as TFC & workload permit.
10.7 ILS training is also AVBL at RI. See separate entry for conditions.
10.8 Flying Operations Inspector test & check flights are permitted on any of the aids in the
SY Terminal Area, subject to appropriate warning & ATC TFC handling capacity.
10.9 No helicopter training is permitted to or from the heliport.
10.10 Airline companies may carry out ACFT checking & testing flights, other than under
asymmetric COND, but these will be limited to 2 circuits by any company in one day.
10.11 MIL ACFT on PILS or LLZ APCH must intercept the LLZ at or ABV 3,000FT.
10.12 VFR ACFT will not be permitted to make practice ILS or LLZ APCH unless VMC exist
FM ground level to 3,000FT.
10.13 ACFT not intending to land straight ahead at the conclusion of an APCH shall carry out
a climb straight ahead until reaching 1,200FT unless instructed otherwise by ATC.
11. HELICOPTER GROUND OPERATIONS
11.1 Operating procedures helicopter facility:
a. Restricted to 14.7M rotor diameter & BLW.
11.2 HJ OPERATIONS
11.3 HEL shall arrive and depart from H1 unless another site is operationally required. If
operating conditions make H1 unsuitable for safety reasons, or will result in extended
