LOCAL TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
1. ACFT requiring parking in front of BK terminal are required to get prior approval from AD
OPR.
2. Low Visibility Operations not AVBL - RWY edge light spacing 90M.
FLIGHT PROCEDURES
1. ACFT which operationally require speeds greater than 250KT IAS below 10,000FT must
advise ATC.
2. MON-THU 0800-0900; FRI 0900-1000 - ACFT should carry a minimum of 15MIN additional
holding fuel for arrivals during these periods.
3. ACFT DEP to Class G airspace shall change FREQ when three miles FM the BK CTR
boundary.
4. All ACFT overflying Hoxton Park, refer to Hoxton Park - SPECIAL PROCEDURES.
5. Taxiing ACFT shall give way to ACFT vacating a RWY.
6. Inbound ACFT RQ RWY 11C/29C are to notify ATC on first contact.

7. LANE OF ENTRY D539A and D539B
a. Class E operations between 90NM N of Sydney and Mount McQuoid IFR holding
occurs in Class E airspace between 40NM to 90NM N of Sydney (VNC Sydney
refers).
Pilots planning VFR flights in the vicinity of Mount McQuoid (MQD VOR / NDB) and
beyond should, as far as is reasonably practicable, plan to avoid the Class E airspace
in this area due to the intensity of IFR aircraft inbound to and holding for Sydney
b. Flights to YSBK from the North:
Track FM Brooklyn Road Bridge to South Dural Tanks, and then the NE shore of
Prospect Reservoir to join the Bankstown circuit (See GAAP).
c. Flight from YSBK to the North:
Track via Parramatta CBD, then Pennant Hills and Hornsby. Once north of the
Hornsby Railway workshops, proceed either to the Coast (TR 085M) or to Patonga.
d. Noise Abatement:
Except when on climb or descent, pilots of multi-engined ACFT should operate not
below 1,500FT AGL in D539 A & D539B, unless operation at this altitude would
jeopardise the safe conduct of the flight.
e. If unsure of position request assistance from SYDNEY 125.8.

8. OPERATING LIMITATIONS
a. All OPS unable to visually navigate clear of the SY CTR must obtain an airways
clearance prior to departure.
b. Airways clearance requests to enter SY CTR must be made on BANKSTOWN
GROUND 119.9 during the hours of activation of BK TWR, or SYDNEY RADAR
124.55 when BK CTR is deactivated.
c. ACFT DEP in CTA ABV AO40 for routes S of Camden may experience DEP delay
due traffic and CTA limitations.
9. GAAP
9.1 Local Procedures
a. Circuit OPS may be restricted BTN 2000-2300 and 0700-Last Light
b. The circuit ALT for fixed wing is 1000FT on BK QNH
c. Unless otherwise advised by ATC, circuit training OPS are to be confined within a
2NM radius of the ARP; and
d. OPS on RWY 11C/29C shall conform to the 11L/29R circuit direction (i.e.11C/11L
- left circuit, 29C/29R - right circuit), unless otherwise advised by ATC.
e. Practice instrument approaches may be approved by ATC.
f. CAUTION: HELICOPTERS OVERFLY RUNWAYS MIDFIELD AT 500FT.
9.2 Departures
9.2.1 All ACFT subject to an AWY Clearance shall report "READY" on SMC FREQ 119.9 prior
to leaving the run-up bays, to avoid congestion at the H point.
9.2.2 ACFT DEP BK for LDG or practice ILS at SY should contact BK Ground prior to start to
ascertain any expected DLA.
a. Routes:
All ACFT shall DEP the CTR on UPWIND, CROSSWIND or DOWNWIND by
extending the relevant leg of the circuit & then TR clear of GA APCH points &
associated routes.
b. Altitudes (applicable HJ):
(i) ACFT DEP RWYs 29 shall DEP the CTR on climb to 1000FT on BK QNH; and
(ii) ACFT DEP RWYs 11 shall DEP the CTR on climb to 1500FT on BK QNH
9.3 Arrivals
a. Routes:

(i) ARR ACFT shall TR via, & REP at, one of the FLW CTR APCH points on 132.8:
PROSPECT (the NE shore of Prospect Reservoir); and 2RN (S of 2RN radio
mast).
(ii) ACFT shall remain on TWR FREQ after LDG until clear of all RWYs in the RWY
complex.
b. Altitudes (applicable HJ):
(i) ACFT ARR when RWY 29 is in use shall, unless instructed by ATC to maintain
