a level, enter the CTR at 1500FT on BK QNH & shall MNTN 1500FT until on
the downwind leg of the circuit, ABM the upwind end of the RWY; and
(ii) When RWY 11 is in use, ACFT ARR FM PROSPECT or FM 2RN, shall enter
the CTR at 1000FT on BK QNH.
c. After Landing
Remain on 132.8 until clear of all active RWYs, then monitor SMC on 119.9. Request
"taxi guidance" if required.
9.4 HELICOPTER OPERATIONS.
NOTE: THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES APPLY HJ ONLY. HELICOPTERS SHALL
USE FIXED-WING PROCEDURES HN
9.4.1 Local Procedures
a. All HEL OPS in the BK CTR shall be conducted at 700FT on BK QNH, unless
otherwise advised by ATC.
b. The HEL circuit is based on the HLS to the N of the 11/29 RWY complex. The circuit
direction shall conform to that of the active RWY. The circuit shall be conducted WI
the fixed wing circuit.
c. Four special HEL check points have been devised to segregate HEL traffic by having
it ARR or DEP, beneath the fixed-wing circuit at right angles to & midway along the
downwind leg. ATC will instruct every ARR & DEP HEL as to the route to be flown.
d. The HEL check points are :
(i) CHOPPERS NORTH - Intersection of water pipeline & railway line N of Sefton
Golf Course, 2.5NM N;
(ii) CHOPPERS SOUTH - Intersection of two creeks enclosing a sewerage treatment
works 2.1NM S; and
(iii) WARWICK FARM - Warwick Farm Racecourse.
(iv) CHOPPERS WEST - Michels Patisserie located 0.5NM West of
(v) CHOPPERS NORTH on the water pipeline.
9.4.2 Departures
a. HEL shall advise their intentions or preference with the "READY" report.
b. For RWY 29 circuit direction: HEL tracking to the North, track outbound via
CHOPPERS WEST;
c. For RWY 11 circuit direction:
HEL DEP to the North, track outbound via CHOPPERS NORTH;
d. Departures via CHOPPERS NORTH shall continue northbound until clear of the
control zone unless instructed otherwise by ATC.
e. Departures via CHOPPER SOUTH: After passing CHOPPERS SOUTH, HEL shall
turn to track between R555 and 2RN unless instructed otherwise by ATC.
9.4.3 Arrivals
a. HEL shall make first contact with BK TWR on 132.8 at one of the GAAP approach
points (not at a HEL check point).
b. Expect to join circuit on base for both circuit directions.
c. For RWY 29 circuit direction:
HEL arriving from the north, track inbound via CHOPPERS NORTH and remain N
of the pipeline until established within the control zone and in receipt of circuit entry
instructions.
d. For RWY 11 circuit direction:
HEL arriving from the north, Track inbound via CHOPPERS WEST.

10. FLIGHT IN PROXIMITY TO GAAP CTR
ACFT are subject to the flight in proximity provisions specified in AIP ENR only if OPR
WI 3NM of the BK CTR BDRY.
11. GAAP COMMUNICATION FAILURE
a. Carry out Communication Failure procedures in EMERG.
b. TR via the appropriate GAAP approach point.
c. Enter BK CTR at 1500FT and TR to overhead the aerodrome at that altitude.
d. Ascertain landing direction and join the appropriate circuit for the runway selected.
e. When ready, descend to circuit altitude remaining clear of the other circuit.
f. Maintain separation from other ACFT.
g. Proceed with normal circuit and landing.
h. Watch for light signals from the TWR.

NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES
1. FIXED WING
a. Circuit training is permitted only BTN 2000 & 1300 MON to FRI & BTN 2000 & last
light on SAT & SUN.
b. The preferred RWY direction is 29.
c. OPS BTN first light & 2100.
(i) OPS in the 29 direction shall be confined to RWY 29L, except that RWY 29C
may be used if operationally RQ; and
(ii) OPS in the 11 direction shall be confined to RWY 11R, except that RWY 11C
may be used if operationally RQ.
d. BTN the HR of 0900 or last light, whichever is later, to 2100, RIGHT HAND circuits
are mandatory when OPR in the RWY 11 direction & LEFT HAND circuits are
