4.1 Scenic flights conform to the route depicted on the following map and to the following
Standard Operating Procedures. Pilots conducting these flight should operate on CTAF
127.3.
4.2 National Park Entry Points
NE Entry S17 18.3 E128 30.7
SW Entry S17 28.0 E128 17.5
4.3 Aeroplanes
4.3.1 Aeroplanes operate around the Bungles in a clockwise direction and in accordance with
the following procedures:
a. Operations from or to Kununurra or Halls Creek enter or leave the Bungles in
accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. See ERSA FAC for details.
b. Operations from or to other locations must enter or leave the Bungles at a tangent
to the route.
c. Corner cutting and orbits are not permitted.
d. The maximum IAS is 140KTS.
e. Operate between 2,500FT and 3,000FT AMSL.
f. Broadcast departing the area on the CTAF 127.3.
g. Aeroplanes not wishing to complete the scenic route must climb to a VFR cruising
level 3,500 or above before departing the route.
4.4 Helicopters:
4.4.1 Helicopters may track as required within the Bungles not above 2,000FT AMSL. To
maintain terrain clearance, helicopters may operate to the minimum extent required above
2,000FT provided they:
a. broadcast detailed intentions before leaving 2000FT AMSL on climb;
b. cross the aeroplane route at right angles; and,
c. broadcast returning to operations not above 2000FT AMSL.
4.5 Bungles ALAs
4.5.1 Aircraft operating to or from ALAs in the Bungles area must adopt the above procedures.
5. SP5 - HERVEY BAY MARINE PARK
5.1 Pilots of fixed wing ACFT are requested to stay at least 1000FT ABV whales and
helicopters should not be used for whale watching. For further information refer to the
Hervey Bay Marine Park Zone Plan or contact the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service
Senior Ranger (Coastal Management) Phone 07 4121 1800, PO Box 100, Maryborough,
QLD, 4650.
6. SP6 - FRUIT FLY EXCLUSION AREA
6.1 Pilots should be aware that carring fresh fruit into the Fruit Fly Exclusion Zone without a
permit is illegal.

Pilots operating scenic flights over the Rock & the Olgas are requested to follow the flight
path depicted on the associated diagram & as set out in A to H BLW.
a. Track Ayers Rock AD to "The Rock" at 4000FT AMSL;
b. Track "The Rock" to "The Olgas" at 4500FT AMSL;
c. Track "The Olgas" to Ayers Rock AD at 4000FT AMSL;
d. Helicopters should fly these procedures at 3500FT AMSL;
e. Make inbound and outbound calls at "The Olgas" and "The Rock";
