- Standard Crew -
01 - BRIEFING TOPICS
· CRM issue : Decision making
· The instructor will present dispatch release documents to trainees in the briefing room and
give a general briefing on the conduct of the loft session. At this stage, he will answer
questions and clarify any points trainees may have regarding documentation.
· He will take the role of dispatcher and action the trainee crew decisions regarding extra
fuel, deferred items, etc... Once the crew has entered the simulator, the instructor will
communicate with them as required, in the role of ground mechanic, ATC, cabin crew or
company agent.
· Any malfunction actuated must be allowed to continue either to corrective action by the
crew or to final landing and arrival at the gate for parking.
· Except in the event of simulator problems, the instructor must not interrupt the crew in any
way, particularly concerning crew decisions and actions.
02 - SESSION OBJECTIVE
· This session is to demonstrate a real time flight with real time problems.
· After lift off, only two failures will be permited (see session guide) :
- One malfunction is mandatory during climb and must be kept to the top of descent
(see malfunction list).
- One other failure is permited during the flight. The failures must be taken from the
malfunction list.
Second failure can be inserted enroute to the destination or the alternate.
· Flight from LFPO - PARIS ORLY to LFBO - TOULOUSE BLAGNAC.
· Departure with a deferred item.
· Landing in TOULOUSE becomes impossible.
· Diversion to LFBD - BORDEAUX MERIGNAC.

04 - SESSION GUIDE
IN THE BRIEFING ROOM :
The crew must be provided with documents required for the flight :
COMPUTERIZED FLIGHT PLAN (CFP) :
CFP should be checked by the crew before the flight, and fuel corrections may be
made by the captain.
Block fuel may be increased due to weather and NOTAMS.
MET REPORTS :
Weather should be analysed, wind and temperature at FL 370 to be inserted into
MCDU during cockpit preparation.
XXXXXX Z indicates that day and time of weather data are valid for the intended flight
period.
NOTAMS :
Should be analysed and inoperative VOR’s deselected during cockpit preparation
(TOU VOR on test).
TECHNICAL LOG BOOK : (SEC 3 FAULT - MANDATORY malfunction)
Crew should analyse deferred item, using pages from FCTM (MMEL chapter) :
