01 - GENERAL
This course is designed to bring the trainee to the level of ground instructor on Airbus A320.
It is centered on the ground phase and on the FBS sessions of the A320 Regular Transition
course and is further supplemented by an observation of a full Abnormal/Emergency phase
extracted from the Regular course.
This course does not include aircraft handling but introduces the basic of task sharing and
crew coordination.
02 - OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
A. PHASE 1 : GROUND COURSE
· To study all aircraft system
· To study in the ECAM trainer, FMGS trainer and Fixed Base Simulator the integration of
systems and subsequent procedures.
B. PHASE 2 : NORMAL OPERATIONS
· To study in the Fixed Base Simulator the integrations of systems and subsequent
procedures as well as aircraft handling in normal situations.
C. PHASE 3 : ABNORMAL/EMERGENCY OPERATIONS
· To observe and study in the Fixed Base Simulator the abnormal/emergency procedures
with full crew coordination

01 - GENERAL
The Flight Instructor Familiarization course is designed to gain experience with the specific
techniques required to base train on the A319/A320/A321
The trainee instructor is assumed to have previous instructional experience in jet transport
aircraft and have satisfactorily completed an A320 Transition course. It is considered
advantageous, though not imperative, that he should have had the opportunity to consolidate
his knowledge of systems and operating procedures with some 100 hours or 4 months of
practical line flying.
The course is flexible and will be adapted to match any special requirements of the customer
Airline, particularly in the area of trainees’ previous experience.
