· Training to proficiency
a. Systematic approach to instruction :
The task of training must be considered as a whole and an instruction system must be
defined to achieve the training objectives. These objectives are determined by a task
analysis. Methods and means necessary to implement the instruction system are
chosen for their qualities and adaptability to the objectives.
Each phase in the training system is intended to fulfil part of the objectives.
b. Learning by doing :
It is very important that practical exercises are included in each training phase.
Practical system training is provided as soon as possible to :
· ensure that the theoretical knowledge is retained
· train the crew members in their respective tasks in the cockpit environment.
c. Training to proficiency :
At the end of the training program, each crew must be capable of carrying out his tasks
safely and efficiently, in accordance with the training objectives. Therefore, it is not
possible to permit a trainee to move up from one phase to the next until he has acquired
the skills necessary to complete the objectives.
d. Crew training - Crew Resource Management (CRM)
The ACRM (Airbus Crew Resource Management) is integrated into the technical training
through 7 CRM topics studied during the ACRM workshop. Each topic could be part of
the briefing or debriefing of a session depending on crew’s performance and various
opportunities.
· The debriefing of a topic can be done every time it could enhance the trainee’s
performance
· The briefing of a topic (if not already debriefed) is scheduled in accordance with the
table provided in the Trainee’s file

This course is divided into 3 parts :
Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) course + Jet familiarization
Adapted Line Familiarization type rating course
Specific skill test on simulator and aircraft
NOTE : As the MCC course can be subcontracted to outside locations (Airbus training
network), the following computerised codes are used to identify whether the Trainee
is perfoming the First Type Rating course, the MCC course or the Adapted Line
course :
Multi-Crew Cooperation course (MCC) .....................E F2MA2
+ Adapted Line Familiarization course .........................E F2LA8
= First Type Rating on Multi-pilot Airplane course ........E F2MA1
A. MULTI- CREW COOPERATION (MCC) COURSE
This course is part of the first type rating course on multi-pilot aircraft.
The objective of the MCC + Jet familiarization course is not to become proficient in
operating an A320 aircraft : it is not a type rating course.
The aim of the course is to become proficient in multi crew cooperation (MCC) in order to
operate safely a multi-pilot multi-engine aircraft under IFR.
In addition, this course is designed to adapt the trainees’ flying skills to Jet aircraft
handling.
