R . replace the CTL UNIT-WEATHER RADAR (3SQ) (Ref. AMM TASK
R 34-41-12-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 34-41-12-400-001).
R - If the fault continues:
R . replace the MTG TRAY-WR XCVR (9SQ) (Ref. AMM TASK 34-R 41-37-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 34-41-37-400-001).
R (b) If the weather radar system 2 is set:
R - replace the XCVR-WEATHER RADAR, 2 (1SQ2) (Ref. AMM TASK 34-41-R 33-000-004) and (Ref. AMM TASK 34-41-33-400-003).
R 1_ If the fault continues:
R - do a check of the wiring of the TR2 DATA BUS 1 OUTPUT and
R the TR2 DATA BUS 2 OUTPUT buses from the weather radar
R transceiver 2 (1SQ2) to the first terminal block (Ref. ASM
R 34-41/01).
R a_ If there is no continuity:
R - repair the above wiring.
R b_ If there is continuity:
R - do a check of the wiring of the weather radar control
R unit (3SQ):
R from pin B/G to the first terminal block
R from pin B/A to the ground point

R * from pins A/A and A/E to the control unit (3SQ), pins
R A/D and A/E.
R * from pin A/B to the ground point.
R * from pin A/D to the weather radar transceiver 2 (1SQ2),
R pin AB/8D.
R (Ref. ASM 34-41/01).
R - if there is no continuity:
R . repair the above wiring.
R - if there is continuity:
R . replace the CTL UNIT-WEATHER RADAR (3SQ) (Ref. AMM TASK
R 34-41-12-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 34-41-12-400-001).
R - If the fault continues:
R . replace the MTG TRAY-WR XCVR (9SQ) (Ref. AMM TASK 34-

R - If the radar system trouble shooting is unsatisfactory,
R replace RADOME (1560WM) (Ref. AMM TASK 53-15-11-000-001)
R and (Ref. AMM TASK 53-15-11-400-001).

Failure of the Weather Radar Transceiver 1
1. Possible Causes

- XCVR-WEATHER RADAR, 1 (1SQ1)
- wave guide switch
- short to ground at the wiring between the circuit breaker (5SQ1) and the weather radar transceiver 1 (1SQ1).

- If the BITE test is not possible, refer to Para. 4. C. of this trouble shooting procedure.
4. Fault Isolation

A. If the circuit breaker (5SQ1) is closed, and if the BITE test gives the maintenance message WXR1 (1SQ1):
- replace the XCVR-WEATHER RADAR, 1 (1SQ1) (Ref. AMM TASK 34-41-33-000-004) and (Ref. AMM TASK 34-41-33-400-003).
