Associated light - LIGHT INOP MAINTENANCE (M)
NOTE: Bottle charge can be verified two ways: electrically per step 1) or by weighing the bottle per step 2). If the electrical check passes, the airplane may be dispatched. If the electrical check fails, the failure may be in the pressure switch, and the system may still be acceptable for dispatch if the bottle charge is verified by weighing. Operators can, if desired, bypass the electrical check and just perform the bottle weighing procedure.
1. Check that pressure switch operates normally and that bottle is charged:
A. Disconnect electrical connector from pressure switch at bottle with inoperative light circuit.
B. Connect ohmmeter between pin sockets 1 and 3 of bottle receptacle.
1) Check for open circuit indication. Open circuit indicates pressurized bottle.
2) Push and hold the pressure switch manual-override button or turn and hold the ground test hex key 1/4 turn counterclockwise on the switch and check for closed circuit indication.
3) Release button or hex key and check for open circuit indication.
C. Reconnect electrical connector to bottle receptacle.
2. Optional Procedure:
A. Remove the bottle per the following Maintenance Manual Procedure:
ENGINE: AMM 26-21-01
B. Weigh bottle and compare to the service weight stamped on the fire bottle side (+ 0.1 pound).
C. Replace serviceable bottle per the Maintenance Manual.
D. Cap and stow the affected bottle’s Pressure Switch Connector.

Test switch (P61) - SQUIB TEST INOP MAINTENANCE (M)
NOTE: Test each circuit for which there was no green light when the test button or buttons were pushed. For configurations with two test buttons and only one APU fire extinguisher bottle, if either button illuminates the APU squib test light, the squib circuit is verified.
1. For APU, Engine, and Lower Cargo Compartments, fabricate a squib test lamp with pigtail leads terminating in sockets. Use lamp P/N 116-565-1042-001 (28 volt, 40 milliamp) in suitable holder.
CAUTION: RESTRICT PERSONNEL FROM FIRE BOTTLE AREA WHILE TESTING.
LIMIT SQUIB CURRENT TO 50 MILLIAMPERES MAXIMUM.
2. Verify that squib circuit is operative. A. For APU:
