OPERATIONS (O)
When dispatching with empty Cargo Compartments the associated Compartment must remain empty or contain only ballast, empty cargo handling equipment (ballast may be loaded in ULDs(Unit Load Device)), or Flight Kits. The content of a Flight Kit is defined in B757 Technical File. Materials to be used as ballast shall be non-combustible (see MEL Preamble).

MAINTENANCE (M)
1. Deactivation procedures for most cargo restraint or cargo guiding equipment are either obvious (e.g. inoperative container stop needs to be released to retracted position or removed to prevent interference with cargo loading) or unnecessary (e.g., a damaged end stop can be left as is). Consequently, no procedures are listed in this document.
2. If the number of inoperative or missing restraint components exceeds the allowance in the Weight and Balance Manual, inform Dispatch that the affected cargo compartment cannot be used.
