MAINTENANCE (M)
1. Configure the airplane per the standby power system check (MM 24-33-00).
2. Place the Standby Power Selector to OFF, then BAT, then AUTO and observe the following conditions:
A. OFF - EICAS displays STANDBY BUS OFF advisory message.
B. BAT - DISCH light illuminates, no STANDBY BUS OFF message on EICAS.
C. AUTO - DISCH light extinguishes, no STANDBY BUS OFF message on EICAS.
OPERATIONS (O)
Substitute the STANDBY BUS OFF advisory message for the inoperative standby power bus OFF light in the STANDBY BUS OFF non-normal procedure.

(M) (O) May be inoperative provided:
a) APU battery is deactivated or removed, and
b) APU is considered inoperative.

MAINTENANCE (M)
The APU battery is located under shelf 3 of the aft equipment center rack E6.
1. The MMEL allows the battery to be (a) deactivated in place or (b) deactivated and removed.
2. To deactivate battery perform the following:
A. Open and collar APU BATTERY CHARGER circuit breaker on right miscellaneous electrical equipment panel P37. On airplanes with extended standby power capability, open APU/MN BAT TIE circuit breaker on main power distribution panel P6.
