3) FLT CONT CMPTR SERVO R
NOTE: This will prevent engagement of the affected autopilot, but will allow operation of the cross channel data bus which provides information to the remaining operative FCCs.
C. If FCC Single Source option is installed, or if it is not known whether FCC Single Source option is installed, verify AFDS is not in a single source configuration prior to each departure as follows:
NOTE: “Single source” refers to single source of either inertial reference or stabilizer position data. The FCC Single Source option allows autopilot engagement in the air in a single source configuration after inflight sensor failures.
1) Check the Autoland Status Annunciator on the instrument panel.
a. If autoland status is “NO LAND 3” or blank, AFDS is not in a single source configuration. No further single source tests are necessary.
b. If autoland status is “NO AUTOLAND”, AFDS may be in a single source configuration and steps 2 and 3 must be accomplished.
NOTE: If the FCC Single Source option is installed, a single source configuration can be detected using the Maintenance Control Display Panel (MCDP). If FCC Single Source option is known NOT to be installed, the MCDP test below is not required since it will not detect a single source configuration. If an actual single source configuration exists and FCC Single Source option is not installed, autopilot engagement will be inhibited in the air.
2) In the main equipment center, or using optional flight deck controls, turn MCDP Power ON.

3) Verify message “SINGLE SOURCE” is not displayed at power up. If this message is displayed, AFDS is in a single source configuration and dispatch with autopilot operation is not permitted. Dispatch may be conducted by considering all autopilots inoperative.
2. Autopilot Inoperative, Autopilot Electrohydraulic Servo Valves (EHSV) Leaking:
NOTE: The following procedure is generic for the three Elevator Autopilot Servo (EAS) Electrohydraulic Valves and the three Directional Autopilot Servo (DAS) Electrohydraulic Valves.
A. Remove applicable hydraulic pressure at panel P5.
1) Left EAS/DAS - Left hydraulic system
2) Center EAS/DAS - Center hydraulic system
3) Right EAS/DAS - Right hydraulic system
B. Set panel P61 switches L, C, R TAIL FLT CONTROL SHUTOFF to OFF.
C. Set the two P10 control stand STAB TRIM switches to CUTOUT.
D. Set the Mode Control Panel F/D switches to OFF.
E. Open the following circuit breakers on the P11 panel:
STAB TRIM SHUTOFF L STAB TRIM SHUTOFF R FLT CONTROL SHUTOFF TAIL L, C, R
MODE CONT PNL L, R
FLT CONT CMPTR PWR L, C, R
FLT CONT CMPTR SERV L, C, R
F. Gain access to the leaky EAS/DAS (Autopilot servo).
G. Remove the pressure and return lines from the autopilot servo.
H. Cap autopilot servo ports with BACC14AG6 or BACC14AG6H caps or equivalent, for 3/8 inch tubing, or BACC14AG4 or BACC14AG4H, for 1/4 inch tubing. Some equivalent parts that may be used during this deferral are BACC14AD0x(J, K, S or D) or MS21914-x(J, K, S or T), where “x” is replaced by “6” or “4” for 3/8 inch or 1/4 inch tubing, respectively.
