Associated pack off light as appropriate - L (R) PACK OFF LIGHT INOP
MAINTENANCE (M)
1. Turn the associated pack OFF.
2. Check EICAS to ensure L(R) PACK OFF message appears.
None
PLACARD
Airplane flight log as appropriate - L (R) RAM AIR INLET/EXIT DOORS INOP
Associated pack control selector as appropriate - L (R) PACK AUTO MODE INOP or L(R) PACK INOP MAINTENANCE (M)
Doors Secured Open (Affected Pack Operational):
1. Open applicable ECS Access door (193CL or 194CR).
2. For airplanes with exhaust doors, verify that both ram air inlet and exhaust doors on affected pack are in the FULL OPEN position. For airplanes with only inlet doors, verify that ram air inlet doors on affected pack are in the FULL OPEN position.
3. If doors are not in the full open position place applicable L or R PACK control selector in STBY-N. For airplanes with exhaust doors, verify that ram air inlet and exhaust doors go to the full open position. For airplanes without exhaust doors, verify that ram air inlet doors go to the full open position.
4. If any door is not in the full open position, perform the following:
A. Remove actuator from door which will not open.
1) Ram Air Inlet Door Actuator: AMM 21-53-03
2) Ram Air Exhaust Door Actuator: AMM 21-53-04
B. Fabricate actuator link 11.1 inches long with rod ends compatible with door actuator fittings. Alternately, Boeing tool No. A21007-1 may be used.
C. Position affected ram air door to full open and install actuator link in place of ram air actuator.
NOTE: Performing step 5.A will enable acceptable cabin temperature performance for most climatic
conditions. Performing steps 5.B through 5.G will enable better cabin temperature
performance during hot day (30°C) ground operations and/or during hot day high altitude operations.
5. Perform either step A or perform steps B through G.
A. For airplanes with exhaust doors, disconnect, cap and stow electrical connectors from both ram air inlet and exhaust door actuators on affected air conditioning pack. For airplanes without exhaust doors, disconnect, cap and stow electrical connectors from ram air inlet door actuators on affected air conditioning pack.
OR
B. Open and collar circuit breaker associated with affected air conditioning pack:
1) Left pack - LEFT PACK STANDBY POWER (P11)
2) Right pack - RIGHT PACK STANDBY POWER (P11)
C. Obtain shorting plug or make a shorting plug per the following:
1) Fabricate a 3.5 (±0.5) inch shorting wire from 20 gauge, type UA (BMS 13-48 TY VII CL 1) or QZ (BMS 13-60 TY X CL 1) wire and two 20 gauge sockets P/N BACC47CP1A.
2) Obtain a ram air inlet door actuator mate-with connector P/N BACC63BP16R24SNL and insert fabricated wire into pins 13 and 15.
