The ASA indicates faults in the Automatic Landing System. These indications may be accompanied by other indications or messages regarding specific inoperative equipment. Refer to the Section 1 message list for associated dispatch deviations.
If a NO LAND 3 annunciation is displayed prior to departure and if no other indications or messages are present, the aircraft may be dispatched with no maintenance action provided all three autopilots can be independently engaged on the ground and approach minimums do not require triple channel autoland. Ground autopilot engagement should be done while the airplane is parked.

Associated yaw damper switchlight - INOP
MAINTENANCE (M)
To verify the proper operation of the remaining yaw damper use the following procedure:
1. Establish electrical and hydraulic power (AMM 24-22-00 and AMM 29-11-00).
2. Verify that the IRS's are aligned and in NAV mode (AMM 34-21-00).
3. Position autopilot and flight director switches to off on AFDS mode control panel, P55.
4. Verify that Engine Indicating and crew alerting system is operational (AMM 31-41-00).
5. Select STATUS on EICAS display select panel P9.
6. Press operational YAW DAMPER switchlight on yaw damper panel and verify ON is illuminated.
7. Verify that YAW DAMPER INOP indicator is extinguished.
8. Position YAW DMPR test switch P61 to operational yaw damper (L or R).
9. Verify immediately that the YAW DAMPER INOP indicator is illuminated amber.
10. Verify that the rudder position indicator in EICAS display shows the rudder moves approximately 3 degrees trailing edge right, 3 degrees trailing edge left, and then returns to center within 10 SECONDS. Rudder deflection of 3 degrees is represented by a 0.05 inch movement on the EICAS indicator scale.
11. Verify that the YAW DAMPER INOP indicator is extinguished in approximately 10 seconds.
