B. On airplanes with extended standby power capability, open and collar EXT STBY BAT TIE circuit breaker on the P11 panel.
C. Open and collar APU BAT CHGR circuit breaker on forward side of rack E6.
D. Remove battery MAIN POWER connector.
E. Remove thermal sensor connector.
WARNING: BATTERY WEIGHS 44 KG (96 POUNDS). DO NOT ATTEMPT REMOVAL ALONE AS INJURY MAY RESULT.
3. Remove battery, if desired. If done, notify dispatch that APU battery has been removed.
4. Notify dispatch that APU is inoperative.
OPERATIONS (O)
1. If APU battery is removed, account for effect on airplane weight and balance.

NOTE 1: Under standard day conditions, up to 3 APU starts may be made with a fully charged APU battery. This MMEL item does not preclude starting the APU, nor does it allow dispatch credit for the APU generator or the APU pneumatics.

MAINTENANCE (M)
The APU battery charger is located on shelf 2 of the aft equipment center rack E6.
1. To remove the APU battery charger:
A. Open and collar APU BATTERY CHARGER circuit breaker in right miscellaneous electrical equipment panel P37.
B. Open APU BAT CHGR circuit breaker on AFT EQUIPMENT CENTER rack E6.
C. Remove connector from charger.
D. Cap and stow connector.
E. Remove terminal block cover.
F. Remove terminal block leads and identify for reinstallation.
G. Cap and stow terminal leads.
H. Remove APU battery charger (AMM 20-10-01).
I. Close APU BAT CHGR circuit breaker on AFT EQUIPMENT CENTER rack E6.
J. Notify dispatch that APU battery charger has been removed; account for effect on airplane weight and balance.
2. The APU battery charger can also be deactivated without its removal by: NOTE: This deactivation procedure will prevent APU start attempts.
A. Open and collar APU BAT CHGR circuit breaker in forward miscellaneous electrical equipment panel P37.
