Inoperative seat - INOP
Passenger seat to be used by flight attendant - FOR FLIGHT ATTENDANT ONLY MAINTENANCE (M)
If the folding type seat does not stow automatically it shall be secured in retracted position. Passenger seat assigned to Flight Attendant shall be placarded “FOR FLIGHT ATTENDANT ONLY”.
OPERATIONS (O)
Passenger seats shall be assigned to Flight Attendant use as follows:

PLACARD
As directed in MAINTENANCE (M) procedure
MAINTENANCE (M)
1. SEAT INOPERATIVE IN OTHER THAN THE UPRIGHT POSITION OR NOT SECURED UPRIGHT
A. Placard seat - INOP - DO NOT OCCUPY
B. Secure seat in the breakover position with a strap or rope such that it cannot move during flight. OR
C. If seat is stuck in the reclined position or cannot be secured upright, block off the row of seats immediately aft of inoperative seat and placard entire row - DO NOT OCCUPY.
2. SEAT SECURED IN UPRIGHT POSITION
A. Placard seat, - SEAT UNABLE TO RECLINE
NOTE: Seat may be occupied.
3. INOPERATIVE UNDERSEAT BAGGAGE RESTRAINING BAR
A. If broken, remove the underseat baggage restraining bar. Placard Associated seat - DO NOT STOW BAGGAGE UNDER THIS SEAT.
OPERATIONS (O)
For an inoperative UNDERSEAT BAGGAGE RESTRAINING BAR, ensure cabin crew is notified of the inoperative restraining bar and that baggage is not to be placed under the associated seat.

2. Close and lock the associated access door. OPERATIONS (O)
Ensure that sufficient galley waste receptacles are available to accommodate all waste that may be generated on the flight.
