(3) Make sure that the related aircraft electrical circuits are energized by the engine 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

(4) Make sure that the aircraft external power stays available.
R B. Do the subsequent test sequence (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-00-730-040):
(1) Adjust the engine 2 power to become stable at 75 percent N2 (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-025).
(2) Put sufficient electrical load on the IDG2 to cause a 40% to 55% load indication on the lower ECAM display unit (ELEC page).
(3) Keep up the above engine power and electrical load conditions for approximately 10 minutes.
(4) Monitor the IDG2 AC frequency on the lower ECAM display unit.
NOTE : The AC frequency has to stay between 398 Hz and 402 Hz during
____ the last 10 seconds of this 10 minute period. If the AC frequency flickers outside these limits then it is possible that the IDG2 has an operation problem.
(5) Adjust the engine 2 power quickly to idle.
(6) Adjust the engine 2 power to become stable at 75 percent N2 (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-025).
(7) Adjust the engine 2 power to idle.
4. Fault Isolation
_______________
A. If the cabin lights flicker after the above test sequence is completed:
- disconnect and connect again the related AC buses from/to the generator 2 by the subsequent step.
B. Open and close again after a few moments the subsequent circuit breakers:

D. If the cabin lights do not flicker, then a one time transient in the IDG2 AC power output not sufficient for a BITE message caused the start of the first flicker sequence:
- no further trouble shooting is required.
E. If the cabin lights continue to flicker:
- make sure that the external electrical power is connected to the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(1) Do a manual switch-over and energize the AC buses 212XP and 214XP by the external power supply (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):
- 307LG at H08
- 304LG at H07
- 306LG at H06
- 305LG at H05
- 302LG at H04
- 301LG at H03
- 303LG at H02
- 300LG at H01
- 308LG at J02.
(3) Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
- 307LG at H08
- 304LG at H07
- 306LG at H06
- 305LG at H05
- 302LG at H04
- 301LG at H03
- 303LG at H02
- 300LG at H01
- 308LG at J02.
(4) If the cabin lights continue to flicker:
- do a manual switch-over and energize the AC buses 212XP and 214XP by the generator 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
- replace the external power supply unit, (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
- do again steps D.(1) thru D.(3) .
(5) If the cabin lights do not flicker: R - stop the engine 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-028).
- de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
