 A. If the test gives the maintenance message DFDR PLAYBACK:
 - on the 21VU make sure that the RCDR GND CTL switch is on (blue light indicator is on).
 (1) If the fault continues:
 - do a check and repair if necessary the wiring (Ref. ASM 31-33/01), between: DFDR (1TU) connector AA/7 and FDIMU (10TV) connector AA/12G, DFDR (1TU) connector AA/8 and FDIMU (10TV) connector AA/12H, DFDR (1TU) connector AA/9 and FDIMU (10TV) connector AB/12G,
 DFDR (1TU) connector AA/10 and FDIMU (10TV) connector AB/12H, DFDR (1TU) connector AA/22 and FDIMU (10TV) connector AB/11E,
 (2) If the fault continues:

 - replace the DFDR (1TU) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-33-55-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 31-33-55-400-002).

 (3) If the fault continues:


 - replace the DMU/FDIU (FDIMU) (10TV) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-34-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-34-400-002).

 A. Get a printout of the last leg report. Make sure that the correct aircraft identification is shown at the top of the printout.
 4. Fault Isolation

 A. If the aircraft identification is not correct or not shown:
 - do a check and adjust the Pin Program from the Coding Plug 197VC-A (Ref. ASM 31-34/03) if necessary.
 (1) If the fault continues :

 - do a check and repair the wiring between Coding Plug 197VC-A connector and the FDIU (1TU) (Ref. ASM 31-34/00) if necessary.

 (2) If the fault continues :


 - replace the FDIU (2TU), (Ref. AMM TASK 31-33-34-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-33-34-400-001).

 B. Get a printout of the last leg report again. The correct aircraft identification is shown at the top of the printout (no maintenance message is displayed).
