C. Installation of the Wheel
WARNING : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE WHEEL AND TIRE ASSEMBLY
_______ TO PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL, AXLE OR OTHER EQUIPMENT. THE ASSEMBLY IS VERY HEAVY (BETWEEN 130 KG AND 200 KG (290 LBS AND 440 LBS)).
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT THE AXLE THREAD PROTECTOR IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED
_______ ON THE AXLE. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AXLE SLEEVE WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL A WHEEL IF THE AXLE THREAD PROTECTOR IS: -NOT USED. -NOT FULLY ENGAGED ON THE AXLE.
(1)
Align the wheel (1) with the driving keys on the brake rotor and install the wheel.
(2)
Remove the PROTECTOR (F46754-1000).
(3)
Install the axle nut (10) on the axle and tighten it with the ADAPTOR MLG (H47682).
(4)
In the cockpit, set the PARK BRK control switch to OFF.
(5)
Turn the wheel in the direction of the axle nut rotation and TORQUE the axle nut (10) to between 25 and 30 m.daN (184.36 and 221.23 lbf.ft).

Prevent the rotation of the wheel and loosen the axle nut (10) to between 5 and 10 m.daN (36.87 and 73.74 lbf.ft).
(7)
Turn the wheel in the direction of the axle nut rotation and TORQUE the axle nut (10) to 15 m.daN (110.61 lbf.ft).
(8)
Tighten the axle nut (10) until the holes in the nut are aligned with the holes in the axle.
(9)
Install the bolts (14), the washers (13) and the nuts (11). NOTE : Install the heads of the bolts (14) in the axle.

TORQUE the nuts (11) to between 0.4 and 0.45 m.daN (35.39 and 39.82 lbf.in).
(11)
Install the cotter pins (12).
(12) Turn the wheel manually to make sure that it is installed correctly. Subtask 32-41-11-420-066
D. Installation of the TPIS and the Fan
(1) Install the joint and the shroud:
(a)
Make sure that the transducer (29) can turn easily.
(b)
Install the joint (16) with the clamp (15). If necessary, turn the transducer (29) to engage the drive dog (27) in its housing.
NOTE : The locating pin (34) puts the joint (16) in the correct
____ position. It locks the joint so that it cannot turn on the wheel (1).
(c)
TORQUE the bolt (28) to between 0.28 and 0.34 m.daN (24.77 and
30.08 lbf.in).
(d)
Install the shroud (18) on the joint (16). NOTE : Use the locating pins (17) on the joint (16) to put the
____ shroud (18) in the correct position.
NOTE : All the edge of the shroud (18) must touch the wheel.
____
(e) Install the bolts (26).

(f) TORQUE the bolts (26) to 0.25 m.daN (22.12 lbf.in).
(2) Install the TPIS harness:
(a)
Remove the blanking caps from the connector (30) and the plug (32).
(b)
Connect the connector (30) to the plug (32).
NOTE : The cable (7) must make a curve.

(3) Install the fan:
Pre SIL 32 - 095
-Apply a thin layer of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-003) to the drive shaft of the impeller (33) and the thread of the nut (25).
-Put the impeller (19) in position and engage the splines. Lock the impeller (19) with DISASSEMBLY TOOL (MG174-04). Install the nut
(25) and TORQUE to between 3.1 and 3.7 m.daN (22.86 and 27.28 lbf.ft).
-Safety the nut (25) with corrosion resistant steel lockwire dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
-Make sure that the impeller (19) can turn easily.
Post SIL 32 - 095
-Apply a thin layer of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-003) to the drive shaft of the impeller (33) and the thread of the nut (25).
-Put the impeller (19) in position and engage the splines. Lock the impeller (19) with DISASSEMBLY TOOL (MG174-04).
-Install the washer (41) and the nut (25). TORQUE the nut (25) to
3.4 m.daN (25.07 lbf.ft).
-Safety the nut (25) with corrosion resistant steel lockwire dia 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
-Make sure that the impeller (19) can turn easily.
(4) Install the debris guard:
