R A. Deactivation of the Nose Wheel Hubcap:
R (1) Cut and remove the corrosion resistant steel lockwire.
R (2) Remove the screws (11) and the washers (12).
R (3) Release the grommet (13) and remove the hubcap (9).
R (4) Disconnect the electrical connector (14) from the connector (15) and
R install the blanking cap.
R WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE TIRE IS FULLY DEFLATED._______
R (5) Remove and discard the cotter pin (4). Remove the nut (5).
R (6) Remove the pressure transducer (3).
R (7) Apply a thin layer of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-004) to the
R shaft (1).
R (8) Install a seal plug (6) on the shaft (1).
R (9) Install a nut (7) and tighten it.
R (10) Safety the nut (7) with the cotter pin (8).
R (11) Remove the rotating mechanism (Ref. TASK 32-49-17-000-001).
R (12) Inflate the tire on the related NLG wheel (Ref. TASK 12-14-32-614-
R 001).
R (13) Put a temporary placard in the cockpit to warn the crew that the tire
R pressure indication is not available on the applicable wheel.
