 (6)
Examine the brake for hydraulic leaks, from the hose connections and the pistons.

 (7)
Examine the brake heat pack. Make sure that:

 -
there is no hydraulic fluid contamination of the carbon parts

 -
there is not too much wear in the drive slots areas and the rivet holes

 -
there is no foreign object damage

 -
there are not too many holes, cracks or chips

 -
there are no soft areas, where carbon is missing or crushed

 -
there are no broken rotors or stators

 -
there are no broken or missing links

 -
there are no broken or missing rivets

 -
there is no other possible damage.

NOTE : If the brake is unserviceable it must be replaced (Ref. TASK
____ 32-42-27-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 32-42-27-400-001).
 (8)
Make sure that the driving keys on the brake rotors are correctly aligned.

 (9)
Make sure that the splines of the shaft (21) and the splines of the bushing (17) are in the correct condition.

NOTE : If you find wear replace the related parts.
____
 (10) Clean the axle sleeve (2) with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-002) and dry it with filtered compressed air.
R (11) Do a visual inspection of the axle protective sleeve to make sure R that it is in correct condition.
R (12) Make sure that the retaining ring (3) of the axle sleeve (2) is in the correct position. The ring must be correctly engaged in its groove. If not, the axle sleeve is not installed correctly and you can damage it when you install the axle nut.

R  (13) Clean the splines (17) of the tachometer hubcap, the splines (21) of the tachometer drive shaft and the splines (22) of the fan with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-002) and dry with filtered compressed air.
R  (14) Apply a thin layer of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-003) on the splines (17), (21) and (22).
WARNING : YOU MUST NOT PUT TOO MUCH GREASE ON THE AXLE SLEEVE. A VERY_______ HOT BRAKE CAN CAUSE THE GREASE TO BURN AND CAUSE A FIRE.
NOTE : Do not mix Material 04-022 with material 04-035. You can use____ Material 04-035 as an alternative to material 04-022. Clean and degrease the parts before you use Material 04-035.
R  (15) Apply a thin layer of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-022) or COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-035) to the load-bearing surface of the axle nut.
R  (16) Apply a thin layer of COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-022) or COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-035) to the axle sleeve (2).
R  (17) Apply COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-022) or COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-035) to the threads of the axle.
R  (18) Clean the inner surface of the wheel bearings (surface that touches the axle). Do not apply grease on these surfaces.

 C. Installation of the Wheel
WARNING : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE WHEEL AND TIRE ASSEMBLY_______ TO PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL, AXLE OR OTHER EQUIPMENT. THE ASSEMBLY IS VERY HEAVY (BETWEEN 130 KG AND 200 KG (290 LBS AND 440 LBS)).
CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT THE AXLE THREAD PROTECTOR IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED_______ ON THE AXLE. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AXLE SLEEVE WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL A WHEEL IF THE AXLE THREAD PROTECTOR IS: -NOT USED. -NOT FULLY ENGAGED ON THE AXLE.

 (1)
Align the wheel (1) with the driving keys on the brake rotor and install the wheel.

 (2)
 Remove the PROTECTOR (Q47316).

 (3)
Install the axle nut (7) on the axle and tighten it with the TORQUE ADAPTOR (460007230).

 (4)
In the cockpit, set the PARK BRK control switch to OFF.

 (5)
Turn the wheel in the direction of the axle nut rotation and TORQUE the axle nut (7) to between 40 and 44 m.daN (294.98 and 324.48 lbf.ft).

 (6)
Prevent the rotation of the wheel and loosen the axle nut (7) to 0 torque.

 (7)
Turn the wheel in the direction of the axle nut rotation and TORQUE the axle nut (7) to between 20 and 22 m.daN (147.49 and 162.24 lbf.ft).

 (8)
Tighten the axle nut (7) until the holes in the nut are aligned with the holes in the axle.

 (9)
Install the bolts (8), the washers (6) and the nuts (5).
NOTE : Install the heads of the bolts (8) in the axle.

____
 (10)
 TORQUE the nuts (5) to between 0.4 and 0.45 m.daN (35.39 and 39.82 lbf.in).
