A. Preparation before Installation
3700GD Q37
3701GD Q36
(1) Lubricate the new packing (40) with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No.
02-003). Install the packing on the splined drive shaft of the pump. R (2) Remove the blanking plugs from the engine pump (35) and the gearbox R mount pad. R
R (3) Put a new gasket (45) on the gearbox mount pad.
Subtask 29-13-51-420-055 R B. Installation of the Yellow Engine Pump R (1) Install the pump (35) as follows:
(a) Put the pump (35) in position on the gearbox mount pad with the nuts (50) through the large holes in the pump flange.
(b) Turn the pump (35) in a counterclockwise direction, until the studs on the mount pad are in the correct position.
R R (c) TORQUE the nuts (50) to between 260 and 320 lbf.in (2.93 and 3.61 m.daN).
(2) Remove the protective covers from the union (15), the union/reducer (25) and (65).
(3) Lubricate the new packing (30), packing (55), packing (60) with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).
(4) Put the packing (60) on the union/reducer (65) and install the union/reducer in the pressure port of the pump (35).
R R (5) TORQUE the union/reducer (65) to between 1350 and 1450 lbf.in (15.25 and 16.38 m.daN).
(6) Put the packing (55) on the union (15) and install the union in the suction port of the pump (35).
R R (7) TORQUE the union (15) to between 860 and 940 lbf.in (9.71 and 10.62 m.daN).
(8) Put the packing (30) on the union/reducer (25) and install the union/reducer in the case drain port of the pump (35).
R R (9) TORQUE the union/reducer (25) to between 270 and 290 lbf.in (3.05 and 3.27 m.daN).
R (10) Connect the case drain hose (20) to the union/reducer (25).
R R R CAUTION : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL/CONNECT PARTS ON THE PUMP TO_______ MAKE SURE THAT THE HYDRAULIC FLUID DOES NOT FLOW OUT. THE PUMP IS FULL OF HYDRAULIC FLUID.
R R (11) TORQUE the case drain hose (20) coupling nut to between 270 and 300 lbf.in (3.05 and 3.39 m.daN).
R R NOTE : Use a second wrench to hold the union/reducer (25) when you____ torque the case drain hose coupling nut.
R R (12) Connect the adapter (70) to the union (15) in the pump (35) suction port.
