D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING : OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
_______
(1)
Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
(2)
Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration. (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3)
Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4)
Disconnect the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) (Ref. TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(5)
Put the container below the filter to collect any hydraulic fluid.
4. Procedure
_________
(Ref. Fig. 301/TASK 29-13-45-991-001)
Subtask 29-13-45-020-050
A. Removal of the Filter Element
(1) Cut and remove the lockwire between the filter bowl (1) and the filter head (3).
(2) Remove the filter bowl (1) together with the filter element (2). R (3) Remove the filter element (2) from the filter bowl (1). Discard the
R filter element (2). NOTE : It is possible that the filter element (2) will stay in the
____ filter head (3). If it does, pull it out.
(4) Examine the filter element in order to find the causes of contamination: If you find metal particles in the filter element you must check the associated hydraulic system after operation of the engine pump in possible cavitation condition (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-280-006).

B. Preparation for Installation
R R (1) Do a check of the correct condition and installation of the O-ring (5).
R NOTE : The O-ring (5) is part of the filter element (2).____
R (2) Lubricate the O-ring (5) of the new filter element (2) with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).
R (3) Lubricate the threads of the filter bowl (1) with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).
R (4) If the red clogging indicator (4) is out, push it in to set it again.
Subtask 29-13-45-420-050
C. Installation of the Filter Element
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3) Do a check of the filter element (2) and make sure that it is clean and not damaged.
R R (4) Install the new filter element (2), together with its O-ring (5), in the filter bowl (1).
(5) Engage the filter bowl (1) in the filter head (3) and tighten it with your hands.
NOTE : If it is not possible to tighten the filter bowl (1), caught____ pressure upstream of the filter bowl may be the cause. Connect a hydraulic ground supply to the aircraft connectors 3006GM and 3008GM to release this pressure.
