A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
(1)
Remove the parts which are attached to the removed accumulator (8) as follows:
(a)
Remove the union (3) and the O-ring (4).
(b)
Remove and discard the lockwire from the adapter (10).
(c)
Remove the adapter (10) together with the charging valve (12) and the pressure gage (11).
(d)
Remove the O-ring (9) from the accumulator (8).
(e)
Discard the O-rings (4), (9).
(2)
Install the removed parts on the replacement accumulator as follows:
(a)
Remove the blanking caps from the accumulator (8).
(b)
Clean the union and the adapter and make sure that they are in good condition.
(c)
Lubricate the new O-rings (4) and the new O-rings (9) and all threads with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).
(d)
Install the new O-ring (4) on the removed union (3).
(e)
Install the union (3) and TORQUE to between 6.258 and 6.827 m.daN
(46.15 and 50.34 lbf.ft).
(f)
Install the new O-ring (9) on the removed adapter (10).
(g)
Install the adapter (10) together with the pressure gage (11) and the air charging valve (12).
(h)
TORQUE the adapter (10) to between 1.08 and 1.19 m.daN (95.57 and
105.30 lbf.in).
(i)
Safety the adapter (10) with lockwire, corrosion resistant steel
0.8 mm (0.032in.) Subtask 29-13-42-420-050
B. Installation of the Power Accumulator CAUTION : USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN
_______ YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU USE THE SECOND WRENCH, YOU WILL NOT LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION : YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS
_______
LUBRICANT.
(1)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Remove all blanking caps.
(4)
Fill up the accumulator assembly with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).
(5)
Put the accumulator assembly in its mounting and install the nut (2). NOTE : Install the accumulator assembly so that you can easily read
____ the pressure gage and you have good access to the charging valve.
(6)
Install the clamps (5) and tighten the screws.
(7)
Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fitting is serviceable.
(8)
Apply HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003) to the thread of the line end-fitting.
(9)
Install the hydraulic line free of stress with the end-fitting (1) on the union (3).
(10) TORQUE the end-fitting (1) to between 9.7 and 10.7 m.daN (71.53 and
78.90 lbf.ft).
Subtask 29-13-42-790-050
C. Test
(1)
Fill the accumulator with nitrogen (Ref. TASK 12-14-29-614-001).
(2)
Remove the warning notices from the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system and from the cockpit .
(3)
Pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(4)
Make sure that the fluid level in the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(5)
Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-863-002).
(6)
Examine the accumulator connections and sure that there are no hydraulic fluid or nitrogen leaks.
R (7) Make sure that the pressure gage shows 3000 +100 -100 psi.
R (8) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-R 002).
R R (9) Do the bleeding procedure of the Yellow hydraulic system downstream of the engine pump (Ref. TASK 29-00-00-870-007).
R R R NOTE : When you do the bleeding procedure, nitrogen, which has gone____ into the hydraulic system from the defective accumulator, is removed.
