Make sure that the container is in position below the hydraulic connections of the ground connectors.
4. Procedure
_________
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 29-13-63-991-001) Subtask 29-13-63-420-050
A. Installation of the Self-Sealing Ground Connectors
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
NOTE : The installation of the suction connector (3006GM) and the
____ delivery connector (3008GM) is the same. The procedure describes the installation only for one connector.
(1)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Make sure that the union nut (6) engages correctly with the ground connector (5).
(4)
Remove the old sealant from the surface of the mounting flange (4) and the ground service panel (3).
(5)
Install the ground connector (5) in the mounting flange (4).
(6)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-019) to the mating surface of the mounting flange (4).
(7)
Remove the blanking plugs from the end-fitting (1) and the ground connector (5).
(8)
Install the ground connector (5) with the mounting flange (4) at the ground service panel (3).
(9)
Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to the bolts (7).
(10)
Install the bolts (7) and the nuts (2).
(11)
TORQUE the nuts to between 0.35 and 0.45 m.daN (30.97 and 39.82 lbf.in).
(12)
Make sure that the line-end fitting (1) is serviceable.
(13)
Connect the line-end fitting (1) to the ground connector (5).
(14)
TORQUE the line-end fitting (1) to between 9.7 and 10.7 m.daN (71.53 and 78.90 lbf.ft).
(15)
Apply PAINTS FOR DETAIL (INTERNAL AND EXTERN AL) (Material No. 07-003) to the surface of the mounting flange (4).
Subtask 29-13-63-790-050
B. Leak Test
(1)
Connect a hydraulic ground cart to the Yellow hydraulic system.
(2)
Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system
(Ref. TASK 29-10-00-863-002).
(3)
Do a check of the ground connector (5) for leaks. No leaks are permitted.
(4)
Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system
(Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(5)
Disconnect the hydraulic ground cart.
(6)
Make sure that, before you install the union nut (6), no hydraulic fluid comes out of the ground connector (5).
5. Close-up
________ Subtask 29-13-63-860-052
A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1)
Remove the container from below the hydraulic connections.
(2)
Remove the access platform from below the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(3)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(4)
Close the access doors 198CB and 198DB.
(5)
Remove the warning notice(s).
HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR PRESSURIZING SYSTEM - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION___________________________________________________________________
1. General_______
The aircraft has a pressurization system for the hydraulic reservoirs . Each reservoir gets pressurized air to 50 psi (3.5 bar) (usual operation), which prevents cavitation of the pumps. The system also remains airtight in the event of failure of the pressurization system or after an engine shutdown.
Air for the reservoir pressurization system comes from: - the left engine high pressure (HP) compressor (HP air) (usual operation), - the low pressure (LP) air bleed of both the left and right engines and the APU (LP air) (if failure of the left engine occurs), - the ground supply.
