(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. TASK 28-00-00-910-001) when you do work on the fuel system.
(2) Put the safety barriers in position. Subtask 28-21-52-650-063
B. Fuel Configuration
(1)
Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2)
Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

D. Get Access
(1)
Put the access platform in position below the the applicable fuel pump.
(2)
Remove the applicable fuel pump 37QA (38QA) (Ref. TASK 28-21-51-000-002).

4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Slide Valve
(1)
Remove the screws (6) and the baulk arm assembly (5) from the canister (1).
(2)
Use the EXTRACTOR - FUEL PUMP (558-1-05903) to remove the slide valve
(4)
from the canister (1) as follows:
(a)
Engage the jacking screws of the EXTRACTOR - FUEL PUMP with the jacking holes in the slide valve (4).
(b)
Pull the slide valve (4) out of the canister (1).
(3)
Remove and discard the sealing ring (2) from its groove in the canister (1).
(4)
Remove and discard the two sealing rings (3) from their grooves in the slide valve (4).
(5)
Remove the EXTRACTOR - FUEL PUMP from the slide valve (4).
