You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you you do work in a fuel tank.

Put the safety barriers in position.

B. Fuel Configuration
(1)
Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2)
Defuel (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-869-001) the fuel from the applicable wing tank.
(3)
Energize the ECAM system (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(4)
On the ECAM Control Panel:
-push (in) the FUEL system page button.
(5)
On the panel 40VU:
-release (out) the X FEED P/BSW. Make sure that the ON and OPEN lights go off.
(6)
On the ECAM SDU, make sure that the crossfeed valve indication shows green cross-line (closed).
(7)
On the ECAM SDU, turn the LOWER DISPLAY switch counter-clockwise to the off position. Make sure that the ECAM SDU goes off.
(8)
De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(9)
Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

(1)
Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2)
Defuel (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-869-001) the fuel from the applicable wing tank and center tank.

Energize the ECAM system (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-001).

On the ECAM Control Panel:
-push (in) the FUEL system page button.
(5)
On the panel 40VU:
-release (out) the X FEED P/BSW. Make sure that the ON and OPEN lights go off.
(6)
On the ECAM SDU, make sure that the crossfeed valve indication shows green cross-line (closed).
(7)
On the ECAM SDU, turn the LOWER DISPLAY switch counter-clockwise to the off position. Make sure that the ECAM SDU goes off.
(8)
De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(9)
Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable wing tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
