(a)
Make sure that the intermediate fairing (5) is correctly installed and pushed tightly against its stop.
(b)
Hold the rear fairing (4) in position near the wing skin.
(c)
Position the harness (25) inside the rear fairing (4).
(d)
Pull the harness (25) lightly in a rearwards direction. If necessary, push unwanted harness (25) up through the guide (30) and the clamp (33) into the conduit (35).

(e)
Engage the key hole slots in the rear fairing (4) with the wing skin bolts.
(f)
Move the rear fairing (4) forward to engage the bolts fully.
(g)
Make sure that the:
-forward end of the rear fairing (4) goes inside the intermediate fairing (5) (out-of-wind)
-
harness (25) is not caught between the key-hole slot positions on the rear fairing (4) and the wing skin
-
harness (25) is not caught between the edge of the rear fairing
(4) and the wing skin.
(h)
Make sure that there is a clearance of 3.0 mm (0.1181 in.) to 4.0 mm (0.1574 in.) between the rear fairing (4) and the intermediate fairing (5). If necessary, cut and de-burr the overlap at the rear of the intermediate fairing (5) to get the correct dimension.
(i)
Install the bolt (3), the bush (2) and the nut (1). Tighten the bolt (3).
(j)
Fill the clearance between the rear fairing (4) and the intermediate fairing (5) with SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016).
(4) Install the front fairing (8) and the cover plate (10) assembly as follows:
(a)
Make sure that the intermediate fairing (5) and the rear fairing
(4)
are correctly installed.
(b)
If the front fairing (8) and the cover plate (10) have been disassembled, continue as follows:
1_ Loosely assemble the front fairing (8) to the cover plate (10)
with the bolt (12), the washer (11) and the bush (6).
2_ Loosely assemble the cover plate (10) complete with the front
fairing (8) to the lower wing surface with the bolts (9).
3_ Make sure that the front fairing (8) aligns correctly on the
intermediate fairing (5).
4_ Use a wax crayon to mark on the cover plate (10) around the
edge of the front fairing (8).

5 Remove the bolts (9) and remove the cover plate (10), complete
_ with the front fairing (8).
6 Remove the bolt (12), the washer (11) and the bush (6). Remove
_
the front fairing (8) from the cover plate (10).
7 Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-064) to the mating
_ surface of the front fairing (8). Do not apply the special material to the surface of the front fairing that will touch the wing skin.
8 Apply a small quantity of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-018) to
_ the mating surfaces of the front fairing (8) and the cover plate (10). Do not apply sealant to the surface of the front fairing that will touch the wing skin.
9 Install the front fairing (8) onto the cover plate (10) with
_ the bolt (12), the washer (11) and the bush (6). Make sure that the front fairing (8) aligns with the marks you made on the cover plate (10).
10 TORQUE tighten the bolt (12) to between 0.08 and 0.10 m.daN
__ (7.07 and 8.84 lbf.in).
NOTE : Do the step that follows before the sealant has cured.
____
11 Use the sealant pushed out from between the front fairing (8)
__ and the cover plate (10) to make a fillet seal. Clean the unwanted sealant from the front fairing and cover plate assembly to make a smooth finish. Make sure that the sealant does not cause a blockage in the drain hole (7).
(c) Hold the front fairing (8) and cover-plate (10) assembly in position against the wing skin.
NOTE : Make sure that the harness (25) does not rub against the
____
edges of the cover plate (10).
(d)
Make sure that there is a clearance of 0.5 mm (0.0196 in.) to 3.0 mm (0.1181 in.) between the intermediate fairing (5) and the front fairing (8). If necessary, cut and de-burr the overlap at the rear of the front fairing (8) to get the correct dimension.
(e)
Install the assembly with the bolts (9).
(f)
TORQUE tighten the bolts (9) to 1.13 m.daN (99.99 lbf.in).
