C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the center tank and the applicable wing fuel tank are defuelled (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2)
Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the applicable wing fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(3)
Make sure that the access platform is below the applicable access panel 540AB(640AB).
(4)
Make sure that the applicable access panel 540AB(640AB) is removed (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-001).
(5)
Make sure that the applicable surge door is open:
-
FOR 6QM, 8QM
the surge door 540BZ(640BZ)
-
FOR 5QM, 7QM
the surge door 540AZ(640AZ).
(6)
Make sure that the applicable tool is on the surge door:
-
For 540BZ(640BZ) the HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) (98D57004014000)
-
For 540AZ(640AZ) the HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) (98D57004013000).

A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).
(2)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4)
Lubricate the new O-ring (2) with FUELS (Material No. 01-001) or COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-012).
