R C. Installation of the Outboard Fuel Pump Fairing
R NOTE : Install the outboard fuel pump fairing in this sequence:____
R - the intermediate fairing (17)
R - the rear fairing (16)
R - the front fairing (20) and the cover plate (22) assembly.
R NOTE : Sealant is not used between the fairings (20), (17) and (16) and____
R the lower wing skin.
R (1) Loosen the nuts (31), the bolts (32) and the clamp (33) on the
R bracket (34) and the guide (30).
R (2) Install the intermediate fairing (17) as follows:
R (a) Hold the intermediate fairing (17) in position near the lower
R wing skin.
R (b) Carefully push the harness (25) into the retention channel inside
R the intermediate fairing (17).
R (c) Make sure that the harness (25) is held correctly below the lips
R of the retention channel in the intermediate fairing (17).
R NOTE : Make sure that the harness (25) is not in tension.____
R (d) Engage the key-hole slots in the intermediate fairing (17) with
R the wing skin bolts.
R (e) Move the intermediate fairing (17) forward to engage the bolts
R fully.
R (f) Make sure that the harness (25) is not caught between:
R - the key-hole slot positions on the intermediate fairing (17)
R and the wing skin
R - the edge of the intermediate fairing (17) and the wing skin.
R (3) Install the rear fairing (16) as follows:
R (a) Make sure that the intermediate fairing (17) is correctly
R installed and pushed tightly against its stop.

R (d) Make sure that the harness (25) is held correctly below the lips
R of the retention channel in the rear fairing (16).
R NOTE : Make sure that the harness (25) is not in tension.____
R (e) Pull the harness (25) lightly in a rearwards direction. If
R necessary, push unwanted harness up through the guide (30) and
R the clamp (33) into the conduit (35).
R (f) Engage the key-hole slots in the rear fairing (16) with the wing
R skin bolts.
R (g) Move the rear fairing (16) forward to engage the bolts fully.
R (h) Make sure that the:
R - forward end of the rear fairing (16) goes inside the
R intermediate fairing (17) (out-of-wind)
R - harness (25) is not caught between the key-hole slot positions
R on the rear fairing (16) and the wing skin
R - harness (25) is not caught between the edge of the rear fairing
R (16) and the wing skin.
R (i) Make sure that there is a clearance of 3.0 mm (0.1181 in.) to 4.0
R mm (0.1574 in.) between the rear fairing (16) and the
R intermediate fairing (17). If necessary, cut and de-burr the
R overlap at the rear of the intermediate fairing (17) to get the
R correct dimension.
R (j) Install the bolt (15), the bush (14) and the nut (13). Tighten
R the bolt (15).
R (k) Fill the clearance between the rear fairing (16) and intermediate
