R (f) Engage the key-hole slots in the rear fairing (4) with the wing
R skin bolts.
R (g) Move the rear fairing (4) forward to engage the bolts fully.
R (h) Make sure that the:
R - forward end of the rear fairing (4) goes inside the
R intermediate fairing (5) (out-of-wind)
R - harness (25) is not caught between the key-hole slot positions
R on the rear fairing (4) and the wing skin
R - harness (25) is not caught between the edge of the rear fairing
R (4) and the wing skin.
R (i) Make sure that there is a clearance of 3.0 mm (0.1181 in.) to 4.0
R mm (0.1574 in.) between the rear fairing (4) and the intermediate
R fairing (5). If necessary, cut and de-burr the overlap at the
R rear of the intermediate fairing (5) to get the correct
R dimension.
R (j) Install the bolt (3), the bush (2) and the nut (1). Tighten the
R bolt (3).
R (k) Fill the clearance between the rear fairing (4) and intermediate
R fairing (5) with SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016).
R (4) Install the front fairing (8) and the cover plate (10) assembly as
R follows:
R (a) Make sure that the intermediate fairing (5) and rear fairing (4)
R are correctly installed.
R (b) If the front fairing (8) and the cover plate (10) have been
R disassembled, continue as follows:
R 1_ Loosely assemble the front fairing (8) to the cover plate (10)
R with the bolt (12), the washer (11) and the bush (6).
R 2_ Loosely assemble the cover plate (10) complete with the front
R fairing (8) to the lower wing with the bolts (9).
R 3_ Make sure that the front fairing (8) aligns with the
R intermediate fairing (5).
R 4_ Use a wax crayon to mark on the cover plate (10) around the
R edge of the front fairing (8).

R 5_ Remove the bolts (9) and remove the cover plate (10), complete
R with the front fairing (8).
R 6_ Remove the bolt (12), the washer (11) and the bush (6). Remove
R the front fairing (8) from the cover plate (10).
R 7_ Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-064) to the mating
R surface of the front fairing (8). Do not apply the special
R material to the surface of the front fairing that will touch
R the wing skin.
R 8_ Apply a small quantity of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-018) to
R the mating surfaces of the front fairing (8) and the cover
R plate (10). Do not apply sealant to the surface of the front
R fairing that will touch the wing skin.
R 9_ Install the front fairing (8) onto the cover plate (10) with
R the bolt (12), the washer (11) and the bush (6). Make sure
R that the front fairing (8) aligns with the marks you made on
R the cover plate (10).
R 10__ TORQUE tighten the bolt (12) to between 0.08 and 0.10 m.daN
(7.07 and 8.84 lbf.in).
R NOTE : Do the step that follows before the sealant has cured.____
R 11__ Use the sealant pushed out from between the front fairing (8)
R and the cover plate (10) to make a fillet seal. Clean the
R unwanted sealant from the front fairing and the cover plate
R assembly to make a smooth finish. Make sure that the sealant
R does not cause a blockage in the drain hole (7).
R (c) Hold the front fairing (8) and cover plate (10) assembly in
R position against the wing skin.
