i. People need religions to set rules to live as a society and also to explain questions
which has no answers (JULI)
Agreeing comments

Chemistry…)
Agi (Religion gave answers to people to the questions that couldn’t be answered before
the sciences)
Nese (Religions comes up as answers but in different shapes),
Aron (people explain their decisions for themselves by using the religion),
Philip (people still need religion to explain the great questions of life),
Bob (people keep using religion because then they are not forced to think it all through for
themselves again)
Koray (One of the other major reasons was religions’ explanations for the secret of the
universe).
4
David(most of the religions offer hope)
ii. Religion shapes the ethical values of a society and is shaped by them. Hence it
influences decision making processes within companies and governments(DAVID)
Agreeing comments

Bob (ethical values should shape religion and not the other way around),
Dietrich (consultants on ethics to business base their thinking on the christian traditions),
Agi (Religion is shaped by the ethical values),

for both, governments and individuals / it is not a tool for companies decision making
processes, profit is the last religion)
4. Religion and Politics
i. The function of religions in a social and a political perspective so far and at present
(KORAY)
Here from this statement above, the sample group came up with 3 different statements as a
majority:
Religion had the function of the laws we have at present
Religion is used to divide societies into pieces
Religion has the function to hold the society together and keep together against enemies
ii. Governments must not support religious groups/activities (Aron)
Agreeing comments
Philip (out one’s own belief shouldn’t be supported by society),
Bob (I think that a government does not have anything to do with it, because of the
laicism of modern society),
Koray (Religion can’t be a tool to govern countries),
Juli (I think governance and religion are 2 different things),
5
Agi (In the lands of free thinking it’s not ethical to support any religious goups from
taxes),
Nese (I think the government should support both religious and non religious people in
equal way),
Dietrich (In Germany the government supports the Christian churches strongly out of
specific tax money! It should be stopped!)
Disagreeing Comments
David (we should not draw a strict line of support and non-support)
5. Religion and Organizational Issues
i. The ethical values of good business can be followed(traced) back to the Christian
Religion; but the values have rarely been transported by church through the
countries.(Dietrich)
Agreeing comments
Agi (the rules of business come from religion first),
Philip (I do think that the church has been lead by corrupted leaders who are more
interested in wealth and power),
Bob (I do think that there are some good values which are being used in modern business)
Nese(I think this is not just for Christian religion)
Disagreeing Comments
Aron (Religions writings are may be “just” some kind of tales to show the way how we
should live)
ii. Religions on macro and micro level have self similarities in themselves and giving the
same message at the very core but differentiates in the way they work. That is being
similar in an organisational structure, which can be categorized as horizontal and
vertical. (NESE)
Agreeing comments
David (Churches tend to have organisational structures)
Aron (there are a lot of similarities between religions)
Koray (there are many similarities between different religions)
Agi (I see that the similarity between them)
Bob (underlying message of a religion (its ethical values) should be more important)
Disagreeing Comments
Juli (Probably not all religions have the same message their aim might be similar),
6
Dietrich (Hindinusm & Budism are without any organisation!)
6. CONCLUCSION
