Do this task: "Remove An Intermediate Case Fairing" (AMM 72-34-05/401).

Put rivet holes in the new fairing (Fig. 801 and 802).
(a)
Put the new fairing on the strut so that the edge gap is approximately equal on all sides. 1) The difference between each edge gap dimension must be less
than 0.030 inch (0.762 mm). 2) Make the gap at the outer diameter edge smaller if the new fairing does not have an overlap there.
(b)
Use applicable clamps to hold the new fairing in the correct
position.
(c)
Make a mark on the new fairing where the five used rivet holes on the strut are.
(d)
Remove the new fairing from the strut.
(e)
Make marks for the nine new rivet holes that are necessary.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE FLUIDS OR LUBRICANTS WHEN YOU MACHINE THE RIVET
_______ HOLES. BE CAREFUL TO PROTECT THE MACHINED SURFACES FROM CONTAMINATION. IF YOU DO NOT PROTECT THE MACHINED SURFACES YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LAMINATION.
(f)
Machine the nine new rivet holes through the new fairing.
(g)
Machine the five rivet holes vertically through the new fairing where the five used rivet holes are in the strut.

Use the limits in figure 802 to machine rivet holes through the strut.
(a)
Put the new fairing in the correct position on the strut.
(b)
Use clamps to hold the new fairing in the correct position.
(c)
Machine nine new rivet holes through the new fairing again and in the strut.
(d)
Remove the new fairing.
